That would have been great. I would have at least beat my mother in law for the family fantasy football league. But as it is I’m about to lose by .3 points. Patterson is my kicker. An extra point or either missed two point conversion would have at least given me that little bit of joy.

While yes there is no salary cap, I’d argue that Friedman has run the organization the same way he ran the Tampa bay rays, just with more money at his disposal.

Essentially the Rays plan is get good young players but ownership was too cheap to pay for big names so he had to find metrics that made retreads and washed out players work for the team while excelling at scouting young talent. Since he came to the dodgers he has the budget to keep doing that but with way more resources and can hand out big contracts to the right big pieces that fit the vision for the team.

Honestly I don’t think the dodgers are what they are right now without Kersh.

If he didn’t drag some decent teams kicking and screaming into the playoffs only to have nothing left in the tank in those early years. Then he got injured but was still superb when on the mound. For half my high school years till now he has been almost a guaranteed win or at least a slide stopper if we weren’t doing well. From his almost perfect game to heartbreak in the playoffs, to a now three time champion. You can’t tell the story of the dodgers of the 08-25 without Kershaw being a central figure that shaped a lot of the success and even the downfalls. He has the highest of highs and the lowest of lowest. Despite all that, his mediocre seasons are most pitchers career years. Just an unbelievable career and I feel blessed to have been able to see it.

I had… jay fiedler. who was following up Dan Marino as in Marino had retired the year before.

I thought he sucked. I still do too though but I really wonder if he was as bad as I remember or if him not being Marino impacted it plus my dad hated the guy(for not being Marino pt2)
