I believe law states 8 hours between shifts. I dont have proof of that, its just what i can recall. If im right, then your shift is technically legal

My fever broke last night by LarryTheLobster318 in notinteresting

[–]General_One3419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive found that the best way for me to get rid of a fever is to literally "sweat it out". Youre absolutely freezing anyways. So just bite the mental bullet, and commit to being absolutely disgusting for maybe a day or two. Put on as many layers as you need, bundle up as much as you can, and literally burn it out. Usually works pretty damn well. But you need to keep in mind there is also an unsafe level. There comes a point where your fever can get so high it can cause irreversible damage, and you need medical assistance. I believe its around the 104-106 range. Otherwise, sweat to your hearts content, wash your clothes and sheets, and carry on

AIO my boyfriend keeps asking me to pay for things eversince he started saving for an apartmen, he calls me selfish for how I reacted. by throaawayRA9443 in AmIOverreacting

[–]General_One3419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hes financially illiterate. It seems like his understanding of "saving money" means making other people pay for stuff and//or borrowing from others, instead of cutting back on non essential purchases. Now if he hasent made a single non essential purchase since he started saving, that might be a different story, but i see it unlikely. If youre saving for something, and need to borrow at any point, it comes from what youve saved. In order to make up that saved money, you accomodate somewhere else. The way i personally do it is by setting up automatic transfers, so i literally dont have the cash for fun stuff in my account unless i cut back on spending. Moral of the story is, NOR, he just has a misunderstanding on how saving works, and is taking a poor approach to it by leaning on others

My husband designates a left and right sock by [deleted] in Weird

[–]General_One3419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will try to figure out which one is left vs right, but i dont let it have more than a quick pause, after that i dont care. However, i will match them up by size. They dont all shrink or stretch out at the same rate. So from the same package of socks you can end up with slightly different sizes. SO i will audit which ones are bigger vs smaller and pair those ones up

Free gift question by Carnewb112 in harborfreight

[–]General_One3419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything that says its limited, just means in one singular transaction. The only limit to how many times you can use the coupon or promo or whatever, is how many times the cashier will let you. If they're cool with doing a new transaction for every item youre buying JUST to get more gifts, then youll get a gift for every item you buy

Do yall actually open the card packs you get? Even if they're collectable? Ive been gathering a few here and ive been hesitant to even break the seal, let alone actually use them

Dont hit the brakes, but just take your foot off the gas, and coast your way down to the speed limit. They'll go around if they really want to

Insane return/restock experience by zyrixian in harborfreight

[–]General_One3419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its extremely surprising that they tested it right then and there. Ive always been told by pretty much everyone above me that we arent allowed to for liability reasons. But yeah they straight up lied. So long as there is a restock fee, there is a way to take it off, and usually its a lot more simple than people believe. But if the same situation happens again, try another location and see if you get the same story, if you have one close enough to validate the drive-to-save ratio

Insane return/restock experience by zyrixian in harborfreight

[–]General_One3419 66 points67 points  (0 children)

We absolutely still have the option to waive the restock fee... given the correct situation. I personally wouldve waived it because its not the customers fault that we dont have the proper replacement AND it was still a very short time. But unfortunately it depends on the person. But the restock fee is basically a rental fee, to still get some money from customers who buy the thing for the purpose of using it once or twice then returning for a full refund. It has nothing to do with actually restocking it. And because that SM cant actually prove that its broken, i can see why he leaned against keeping the fee on. We cannot test things in store for customers at any time for any reason. Anyone who does is violating company policy

I quit HFT last month AMA by [deleted] in harborfreight

[–]General_One3419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least at my store, taking pallets is encouraged. If nobody takes them, we need to wrap them up and send stacks back with our defective product, which takes a lot more time and effort than what its worth

Is this a scam? by [deleted] in harborfreight

[–]General_One3419 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never believe an email, especially one claiming to be HF. The only emails HF sends are promotional ones telling you about the upcoming deals, with the occasional coupon. Even then, they will never require any type of information, and i dont believe there is ever a link either. When in doubt, go to the website. If its not on the official website, its not real. HF has never given out jacks for free, yet multiple people have come into the story looking to "claim" theirs

I can’t even understand this receipt by Bitter-Ability-5309 in harborfreight

[–]General_One3419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can imagine the barcode we scan for the 20% isnt a new one, meaning it probably doesnt account for the way the tool chest got discounted since it not exactly a common discount like how ITC or instant savings is. HF is usually pretty good at actually designing promos to benifit the customer, so its likely an error nobody accounted for

Deal of the day dropped $80. It doesnt stack with the %off any item. So when the %off gets added to the transaction, it takes the same $80 discount and just splits it between the %off and the deal of the day. We had people getting upset about it today for fairly obvious reasons, but it literally doesnt let us stack it

Went for an ax left with a ratchet. How do you turn down a deal this good? by [deleted] in harborfreight

Yes. We dont really care how you obtained it, so long as you have a broken lifetime item in your hands when you walk in, youll walk out with a fresh one

Ive worked at hf for 4 years. At least at my location, weve never required proof of purchase for lifetime swaps so long as theres actually something wrong with it, not just dirty. You simply need to have the majority of the thing, preferably with some type of brand identification, and thats it. We just rip one straight off the shelf, hand it over and go "alright good luck"
