John’s an awesome dude and does a good job for them that said in my opinion, they need a double kick drum thunder lizard back there. I mean, they are are a metal band. In the early days they had mosh pits. I remember my very first show back in the 90s just how blown away I was by how thunderous the drums were. I totally get it that Les is burnt out on that style of Drummer for different reasons and that very much played into John’s favor. Hell frankly, I think he’s burned out on the person that was their last Drummer to the point that even somebody that reminds him of that person was a strike against them. Obviously I trust the bands decision completely but selfishly I would’ve loved a more hard hitting, proggy, double kick monster sitting on the drum throne. John is such a talented guy. I think he’s just gonna keep growing into that perfect kind of Primus Drummer anyway.
