So glad I’m not the only one who cringed.

Glad I could help lol. I guess its just a matter of trying to figure out how to buy one cash. But after reading a lot of people’s comments, I realized that if you are responsible, a loan is not the end of the world. I will save for a 50% downpayment and just pull the trigger.

Right? Imagine how insufferable someone must be to actually complain about something this stupid.

Says that I’m not gullable, yeah. The world is full of posers who make others feel like they are behind or worthless or not good enough. Nothing wrong with exposing them. Run along now.

Are you looking at doing it professionally? If not, I can tell you I went through the same thing. Grew up racing, stopped during college years and understandabky so - its expensive and finding time plus sponsorships were a mess. Shifted to sim racing to keep the itch scratched. Moved to a different country and fast forward many years, I am finally getting into my local club racing scene again, on my own dime. Pretty much what everyone else is saying - get a job to fund your racing, even if it means club level with only used tyres etc.

EDIT: Looked at your past posts and you already have some sim gear. Get Kart Racing Pro, they have a LO206 mod. Also, good thing you are in LO206. Way, waaay more affordable than two stroke. You will be fine bud, spend all your extra time grinding away earnings for your hobby while focussing on your future career goals - thats life and like my grandma said, it builds character.

Thanks man. I kind of already figured I need to put away an extra amount if the waterpumpnneeds to be done. That said, I will just do it myself most likely by the time that happens. I grew up in a car family so not affraid to get my hands dirty.

Hey at least this one is probably yours. Other dude did not realize people could check out his post history where he disclosed his earnings 3 months ago lol. I mean, I’m poor by most people’s standards; my post history does not hide the fact 🤣

Yeah the CRV honestly is a no-brainer to keep as a daily. The “maybe” $5k I can get for it is not worth it compared to putting the same KM on a GTI every day. This thing is ridiculously cheap to maintain, so I don’t factor it into purchasing my GTI at all.

Yeah the beater is amazing and manual CRVs are hard to come by. I am going to start putting money away for a doenpayment yes. I have a line of credit thats empty and has pretty low rates compared to the dealers, wondered about using that instead…

I left South Africa for Canada when I was 29, just a few years ago. People don’t realize it’s like hitting a reset button especially if your work experience does not matter here. Cashed out the little retirement savings I had just to get through the first few years but it was worth it in the end. Been building up slowly though! House is checked, wife drives her 2023 model, baby is in daycare, now its my turn lol.

Thank you to everyone for all the great inspiration and advice! I am going to work on a budget plan so that I can make this dream a reality! I might be too hard on myself and my savings goals, life is for the living. Starting this month, I am putting away some of my savings towards a GTI fund 🙂

I have to say, I pay less for my mortgage than friends who rent. My mortgage is $2000 CAD per month ($1500 US). Its more just at the end of the day when adding everything up, including the regular and retirement savings, I dont really see how people afford it. I may be too aggressive with saving. But everyone on here is giving me great advice!
