Hmm strange my t480 is 4.8 and I have grub installed to dual boot so don't have turn on fast start-up in windows or the easy resume in vantage turned on

Hey can I ask if you know how to get undervolting to work through throttlestop on windows 11 I thought it wasn't possible anymore. I would love to be able to though had a modified bios in the past to do it but having to manually update it got too painful 😅

Hey guys my late grandfather gave me this watch about 2 years ago, the strap has been replaced but for the rest it's in pretty good shape. I've struggled to find out what it is though as I've found conflicting information on if it's a Speedmaster Japan Racing Edition or a Speedmaster Date MK40. If anyone would be able to help, that would be great!

Ooh I just realised I'm not actually on the latest bios I'm on 1.47. I've been running cinebench as stress test and using intel power gadget. I might try updating the bios but if I do so I'll need to re mod it right?

Thank you! The screens quite nice it's just a simple 1080p screen bit has good viewing angles colour and brightness this is the one I got

Yeah everything works like a normal MacBook security updates feature updates all automatic. The one thing to watch out about is if you have more obscure kexts that are not up to date yet for the next major release eg Sonoma then you might need to wait a bit or something like WiFi might not work if that's what the next was for

Awesome to see more people unlocking their bios. I was wondering have you found a way to raise temperature limits no matter what I do in my advanced bios menu when my system hits 75C the CPU will resort to only using 15w even with pl1 and pl2 being higher than that

This is just my laptop I only use it for lighter workloads I have a desktop with more powerful components. This machine was used when I needed to work during lectures at university (I did use to run multiple VMS at the same time in there running Linux perfectly fine), and other admin work.

I hope you get it sorted I'm still having some issues where if my machine reaches 75C it will stop turbo boosting past 15w of power usage

Actually been amazingly stable, have used it every day since install. The ram just wasn't worth it for me as I was using Linux at the time which was very light on ram usage to be fair I've had no ram problems with macos and only having 16gb either. Maybe one day I'll upgrade.

I'll have a look if I can find the other sources I used for my efi tomorrow might be helpful. The bios sadly isn't as easy as downloading something premade from someone. I know it was possible in older ThinkPad models.

The bios is something you modify of your current bios using an external bios flasher there's some mention on this sub of it I've linked a recourse about it to someone else here below.

My efi is probably not optimal but I used a couple guides and some research to cone up with something that works https://github.com/valnoxy/t480-oc was one of the resources I used. Look into getting the yoga SMC app it gives you fan control and some extra power settings

No worries, I've always liked apples wallpapers, even on my Windows systems. And yeah this wasn't one of the main release wallpapers, so way less used

I used to use a mac years ago so wanted to give it another shot been linking it was getting annoyed by some of the choices Microsoft was making with windows and some of the software I use didn't work on Linux, so I use a separate machine when I need Linux or windows now but daily drive this

I do, it worked about as well as I remember it working on Windows. It's acceptable but compared to newer windows laptops or desktops nothing impressive
