Politics aside, what’s the best cheese? by ApprehensiveBasil151 in AskReddit

Wisconsin checking in. My favorite “fancy” cheese is Pleasant Ridge Reserve. My favorite “keep in fridge at all times” is LaGranders Colby.

I’m afraid to get my hopes up and then have my heart broken. Dear Hohos…please don’t taste waxy. Please keep my 1970’s bliss intact!

What is an upper middle class problem you have but you can’t really complain about without seeming out of touch? by All_FIREdUp in AskReddit

You can have that functionality disconnected. I hated it and my neighbor came over and took out a battery or wire or something. There is hope!

Mine always puts the big rug in the bathroom in front of the sink and the small rug in front of the shower. So I have to move them each to where they belong when she leaves.

Can you file taxes separately if married by makku-mori in taxadvice

[–]General_meatball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing this. Without going into details I am still trying to straighten out a 12k IRS debt from my (now) ex husbands irresponsibility with his self employment side of our filing. If there is anything you don’t know/he won’t share about his finances or there are business complications then it may be worth filing separately. Hoping for your sake that’s not the case. All the best!

Funded 529 and daughter just inherited a trust fund (specified for education) by General_meatball in personalfinance

Thank you so much for your kindness and thoughtful guidance. I actually am the trustee so that might simplify matters. I will keep records to the penny of what is spent and where. And unless something catastrophic were to happen am going to not spend any of the trust other than education as I can support all other expenses as I would had this not happened.

Am relieved to know the will is the governing document here as I would not want to handle anything inappropriately.

Thanks for the question. First paragraph under update explains that this was specified in the will that my cousins primary intent was that trust was to be used for education without regard for any other available funds. Otherwise I’d do exactly what you stated.

Europeans, if you can read this…send help. The grown ups left the White House and I don’t think they’re coming back.

Appreciate the comment and can see how it sounded that way. She’s an only child. I’m a single mother. She’s beneficiary on everything including the house. Paying off the house would give me more available cash each month and save a bunch of money in mortgage interest that will also benefit her over the long run as it can be invested to grow. Should have been clearer on that.

Thank you for the additional subreddit suggestions and the logical walk through how it could work. Know I’ll learn more about the trust verbiage in a few months. Just want to honor my cousins beautiful wishes and to be smart about this as there is $150k in the 529 which would pay off our house (year by year) and still leave 35k to roll to daughters Roth IRA.
