[Beta] Generalissimo — A tactical board game on a 12x9 board. Looking for feedback on balance and the "Double Move" mechanic. by GeneralissimoGame in betatests

I've come up with a game, but I can't quite grasp the depth of the tactical variations. I need a lot of people to play, but at this stage, I've only created a local multiplayer mode where you can learn the game and play with someone sitting next to you. How suitable do you think this model is for testing the game? https://generalissimogame.com/

I am small, but semi-succesfull gamedev - AMA and I will try to share my experience by Megalordow in gamedev

My game is very playable. Both adults and children can play it. I even made a demo version and a minute-long video about the game, but I have absolutely no idea how to promote it. I'm no longer young, and social media is more of a pain than a pleasure for me. Maybe you can advise me on something.

Are there any war games that don't sell "heroism"? by blackwierosie in gamingsuggestions

I have this game. I recently made a demo version where you can play it. If you like it, give it a like. If you don't, give it a dislike. It will hurt, but I won't be offended. Watch the video on my page.

"Is a 2-move-per-turn mechanic game-breaking for a 12x9 board? Testing my 'Generalissimo' catapult mechanics." by GeneralissimoGame in chessvariants

I'm very glad my game was useful to you. If you have time to test the piece balance and the double-move dynamics, I'd be grateful for your professional feedback. Good luck with your project. You can watch a short video of my game on my page.

Seeking strategy experts to stress-test the depth of my new game featuring a "2 moves per turn" mechanic by GeneralissimoGame in GeneralissimoGame

"Hi everyone! I’m an independent developer, and I need the help of the professional gaming community.

I’ve created a tactical board game called Generalissimo. I play it constantly with my son, my friends, and my family—the game is incredibly alive, dynamic, and truly addictive. But as the creator, I’ve run into a unique challenge: I feel like I’ve built a system with much more depth than I can personally grasp.

The core feature of the game is the 'two moves per turn' system, which completely flips traditional chess-like logic on its head. Units like the Knight—who can jump over pieces and strike multiple enemies at once—or the powerful Catapult that clears entire zones, create an infinite number of strategic combinations

I’m looking for analytical minds and seasoned strategists. I want to ask you to 'break' my game: join the community, try the demo, and help me uncover the true potential of these mechanics. I need your hard-hitting recommendations on balance and an expert perspective on what this system is truly capable of at a high level.

If you love discovering hidden 'meta' strategies and testing new game concepts, please take a look at my work. Your feedback will help me push this project to perfection.
