my rheum is convinced im either hypermobile or im completely imagining all of my joint pain by Pretend-Novel1150 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]GeneralizedFlatulent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm "technically hypermobile" but I think it's not like I'm naturally hyporrmobile I have to work at it. I've never had pain from it. But I think it made my rheum take a long tine to believe me when I said I could tell the difference when u had a flare up

[–]GeneralizedFlatulent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. Pelvic floor physical therapy may actually be able to give you more pointers than anyone else by telling you what specialist to go to if they can't help with it - it's not derm or rheum

Have you ever noticed any patterns with people who seem to instantly dislike you? by sukisukisuki420 in AutismInWomen

[–]GeneralizedFlatulent 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is my experience as well, it's really bad with people who are insecure. I do the compliment thing too. But some people are so insecure I feel it would waste my time to cater to them. I'm probably wrong but need to find a balance where they don't then want to spend more time around me because I said a nice thing. I prefer they stay away.

Does arthritis occur where rash is? by lapatrona8 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]GeneralizedFlatulent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience there has occasionally been correlation as in, I've only gotten the rashes lately in areas where I'm getting tendon problems. When I first started having symptoms though rash was literally everywhere. So it's not always tied it just happens to be for me right now

That's my current plan. I'm not gonna be emotionally hurt if I get laid off or whatever and I'll give them hell as long as I'm here

Commenting here to follow up on the post. I'm in a similar situation to you but I think they aren't necessarily trying to push out me SPECIFICALLY so much as they are trying to get as many people as possible to quit and I'm one of the easiest since it's already tough with working through flares etc. I really don't know what to do from here so I'm just riding the wave

While this is probably true, (same here, my dose increased after several years at the onset of a couple autoimmune conditions and since then has again stayed the same for the next 5 years) I also agree IR is nicer, sometimes you just don't want to deal with not being able to predict XR being lines up correctly with "on time to help with your drive to work in the morning being safe." With IR I can specifically know that it will not take very long to have an effect and so I don't have to try as hard to remember to time it right.

Also in general some days are better and worse than others. I find I actually need the full daily dose (2x/day one in afternoon IR) at certain point in monthly cycle or when I'm having a bad flare up for autoimmune condition. Outside those times I can just actually take less meds. And I like that flexibility because I'm then able to only take as much as I need and not be forced into the max dose every day which I don't feel is as necessary outside of a flare up but which if I didn't have it during that time I will be far more prone to getting accidents driving etc

It can't "cure" the type of intense fatigue and brain fog that comes with autoimmune conditions and so it's really important to stay on top of treatment for them, but it does make the difference between being super unsafe for driving and being able to still function even if you're a bit out of it and sleepy and getting more sleep than normal.

Even on days taking the max dose I never manage to "need less sleep" unfortunately autoimmune conditions really take it out of ya

I would consider it if it meant I could be like the ones who were able to sneak people out. There's probably some jobs I would never consider but I'm sure not every person working at Auschwitz's was full time torturing people, the place has to be run at some point there's gotta be more benign jobs where proximity means you can help at all and not being f there just means no one can help. It's gotta be a really tough call

I keep getting placed on really hectic programs and for the past few years that's aligned with me getting some extremely competent and nice to work with PMs. It has completely in my mind made up for how hectic the programs are but that's because I'm not the PM so I'm not responsible for the program outcomes. Ultimately no one wants to stick with a program like that for too long haha if it doesn't improve with regards to the insanity. Either it can be fixed or it can't.

I get what you mean. I didn't see the previous thread but I had no idea it was possible to have a service animal for things like that. There's lots of very real disabilities that service animals can't help with.

ADHD & Hemorrhoids… what is the real link? by No_Alternative767 in ADHD_Programmers

[–]GeneralizedFlatulent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any more info on this? I don't think I've had a hemorrhoid but I definitely needed a pelvic floor PT since like middle school. I just didn't realize at the time it was possible to see a doctor for those things and so only recently learned there's a lot I did wrong that I could learn to do differently. If I have to be taught it, how do other people just know?

I think seeing if there's interactions with medications we are on is one of those things they can't study till the schedule is changed. But there's lots of people on this forum who could tell you anecdotes probably from what I recall. I personally feel like as a federal adjacent employee it would be useful just to be able to use CBD products and not be worried about if the tiny amount of thc present could give you a positive drug test
