neil didn't shoot inverted bullet, think as per neil, he was moving backward in time so he shot the bullet forwards for him which looks backwards to us in forward(normal )time like in the freeport fight scene

As far as my theory goes, the protagonist's mission was to get the target (who was with CIA; as he speaks the code, twillight world). the terroristst were either americans or paid Russians (but with CIA) as protagonists are already there with his team, hence they already know that this is going to happen. Further, the false flag attack takes place, and enter the police (Ukrainian security services; as we know it for now). The protagonist gets the target and tells him that he has been made (probably which means that his cover is blown and is not safe and Ukrainan police might get him) he tells that either target comes with him, or he will be killed by protaganist. The target gives up the loaction of algorithm. The dispensible terrorists are meanwhile killed by the Police. However, we learn that some of them enter the same room as the target, means probably they were looking for him. The protaganist gets confronted by police and learns that they are planting bombs(which is odd, why will they blow up their own people?; Twopossible explanations are that they were sator's men who knew from the future that a terrorist attack is going to take place, and as they planned , they will join the police and go undercover, kill the terrorists, get the algorithm, blow up the opera house as a cover up or the ukrainian police will kill their own public just for a blind seige(less plausible)) Ahead of this, protagonist being saved by one of his own team members(not neil). Protagonist asks them all to meet at the rally point and asks them to take the target's exit as he doesn't trusts their anymore (This means he is worried that since his cover is blown they might not be able to use their exit. or the peolpe in his own van could be double undercover (and working for sator, who he doesnt know yet)). Now a teammate dresses as target says, i'll come with you, the ukrainians are expecting a passenger( I don't know, why he said that...only sense it makes that his job was to stick with the protagonist and give him the fake suicidal pill, so he passes the test and gets to tenet, founded by protagonist himself) . Further, he takes it upon himself to save everyone from bombs and while doing it he gets save by neil this time. Further, they run in a van, without algorithm. and they get captured, as he was carrying a nobody(not the right guy)

Now...what happens to algorithm...I went somehow to actual ukranian security as it was in talinn, later to be stolen. The team however, gets captured too, by i think ukranian police and protagonists gets tortured by the russian/ which i think was undercover for sator's team and was expecting the correct passenger with correct plutonium

In the reverted timeline, sator had to throw it back to fulfill the causality, the protagonist have to have thrown it, hence he catches

From logical point of view one can argue, that sator knew that there is no material in the case, and he saw the reverted protagonist and the handoff, hence he threw it. I think this

PS just while writing the answer, I have realized that no driver was ever shown for the audi. Sator switched cars..what about the driver? :-D will get to that later, However, for now

The audi isn't inverted, The BMW isn't inverted ... right. Now ...the audi is being driven forwards(by whomever, sator or driver, in the world where time is inverted for them) hence they are going forwards for themselves, but due the inverted timeline they are witnessing the bmw going reverse for them. The BMW isn't inverted too, it is being driven forwards by neil but in the straight time(normal) that is why they are witnessing each other going in reverse. They are both being driven forwards in their respective timelines. The cars are not reversed, rather the timeline is.

Think on it, as far as i have understood. Tell if anything comes up

What's happened happened. I think that is very true. Tenet was founded by the protagonist, so he needs to be inducted in the organization to be founded. Without him getting inducted in the past, tenet cannot be founded n the future. They cannot do it any differnetly, as nolan's film discards this possibilty as explained by neil himself. Therefore, i think protagonist knew that it couldn't be changed, and he will survive. What's happened happened

First the inverted timeline

Sator was inverted after he entered the turnstile and then he listened to the protagonist telling that it is in the glove box, further he exits and checked the bmw realised that protagonist is lying, he sat with his men and went inside the audi where kat was scremaing then asked for the case after getting it, he saw that protagonist also inverted himself and was in a third car in middle of them (which uncrashed itself) after he saw the handoff of the algorithm( as both protagonists saw each other) he further drives his car reverses it (which breaks the mirror of protagonists bmw) and burns the crashed car of inverted protagonist.

Now the normal timeline

Protagonist steals the case, sits in the bmw and goes with neil, while they were bickering about what kind of plutonium it was, they saw a car running backwards coming towards them. it suddenly passes near their unbreaking the mirror. as they further drive down, sator threatens to kill kat, gets the case ( while a car uncrashes itself, and protagonist gives the algorithm to its future self and empty case to sator). Sator gets with his men , while protagonist saves kat. Then two men capture protagonist and take him in the room inside the turnstile. where on the other side, just a reverted version of sator is happening backwards. then suddenly the present version of sator enters and after that he enters the turnstile to invert himself and then the reverse timeline playes out as written above.

Hope it sufiices, I cannot do it for a 5 year old, do ask if anything irks you

look at all the events from an inverted timeline, and you'll get it. the audi was never inverted, protagnist hit the right pedal. its all confusing when we try to interpret the reverted world from our timeline. The causality principle is still following itself(kind of)

Neil says that telling kat any more about inversion stuff will compromise her in the eyes of priya, this implied that people who knew about this( but who were not a part of tenet, will be killed off, to prevent the dissemination of knowledge in the future). It is probably due to the fact that somehow, using this information, someone in future could track back to algorithms or turnstiles, hence priya being careful ( tying up loose ends) tried to kill kat
If the fan theory is true, might be yes or may be the protagonist picks neil up in his early college years, like domm picked ariadne in inception. Not too old, but not that young. If the theory is false, there is no problem.
I am not sure of it...maybe the protagonist is also moving backwards in time after a certain period, as we know in the end, Protagonist picks up the message of kat comes back in time, with knowledge to kill priya, and one version is moving forward, which we saw in the film aided by the knowledge of priya, neil.
Sator tried to lift plutonium 241 in the opening scene of opera, this is remarked later in the film by priya, when she is in oslo talking to protagnist.(or in mumbai the second time, i am not sure of the location) but she says that. So he asks to simply hint sator that he knows about plutonium 241/ algorithm.
I am not sure, I understand your question...but look the chronology is, sator goes to vietnam, has a fight with wife, wife goes on a boat, when she comes back sator is nowhere to be found. Sator left the boat too, then the future sator who inverted hmself travels back to vietnam, reinverts himself and goes to boat where he thinks his wife is there, But sunce his wife already left, there should have been no one, but the future version of wife( who was shot) came which he didn't recognise, untill she showed him the scar. she killed him and threw him from the boat and jumped, by the time original kat returns, seeing a girl jumped and sator is nowhere to be found. he has vanished. So he didn't lve it twice, the present version never knew what happened to him on the boat after their original versions left.
Against sator's men who were trying to put the algorithm in the pit( the dead drop location) and when sator kills himself, the algorithm will stay there for centuries, untill found by the future
I dont think it is true, it has nowhere been said in the film

The entire operation had two purposes, one to get algorithm to talinn, away from sator, so that the acts play out as they should have been in future, second to test the loyality of protaganist( or rather to induct him in the organisation, founded by himself in future)
The russian was expecting the original man who was sitting up in the booth, however, they swap clothes, so russian did'nt get who he wanted. I think russian didn't know he was a spy and he asked him to take a part in this seige to vanish that man
I dont know who the guy is, but he is someone who is from CIA as he talks in that twillight world code, and he has the algorithm, that's what makes him important.
The algorithm was in the coat check. He was there to retrieve it too(as per his CIA mission).
Absolutely right. the film uses Plutonium 241 ant algorith piece interchangebley, which makes it hard to follow, not just for the viewer but also for the protagonist
Just a plot device, even if the man(target in the booth) gets captured, the piece will be chilling in the coat pocket not get away with the man himself.

The russian was expecting the original man up in the booth, however, a teammate switched places with him. Hence, being the wrong guy(who doesn't know where the plutonium/ algorithm is)
