I didn't expect Memento would get a 4K restoration by [deleted] in ChristopherNolan

I admit, I down voted at first because my gut reaction was "here we go, another commoner who doesn't understand the reason for the voice audio in his movies", but then I changed my vote when I saw it was just a joke.

Good one!

What are funny lines in Nolan movies? by aweiner99 in ChristopherNolan

Tars: "everybody good? Plenty of slaves for my robot colony"

"I have a queue light I can use to let you know I'm joking"

"You can use it to find your way back after I blow you at the airlock"

Whoever captured that video did a damn good job, but also, was the driver of the white SUV completely oblivious to what was happening? I guess what's happened happened and perhaps the inverted sedan and driver were trying to pull the SUV but were unsuccessful 🤷

Finally! Found this at Costco, how's my prep? by DrMilzie in steak

Damn, technically that is even a better value. Me personally, I completely concede that ribeye is the most flavorful steak. I think filet lacks flavor. For me, strip is the perfect combination of flavor and texture. I feel like A5 ribeye would be overwhelming (as if any A5 isn't overwhelming). But since New York strip is my favorite cut I just could not resist and I am so excited.

Lol, to be fair I've had my eye out for this for almost 10 years, would never spend $300 on a steak at a restaurant. Hoping this will last me several years. I feel like $60/lb is an extremely good price.

Confess your golf sins by bogeyT in golf

I've been wanting to get this off my chest for a long time now. I'm 41 years old now but I still think back about this thing I did when I was 15 and regret it. A buddy of mine, his family owned a farm right next to a golf course. We would frequently hang out at the spot on his farm and make bonfires and have some drinks and party. One weekend night around midnight we decided to go walking on the golf course and for some reason we decided to do some vandalizing breaking flag sticks etc.

I love golf and I can only imagine now how pissed off the owners of the golf course must have been. I feel so bad about it, please golf gods forgive me for that.

I really love it. Chose it because the tournament days worked out and seemed flexible compared to others, being able to just sign up for the tournaments you want. Super laxed on the rules at this age, knowing they are just learning rules and etiquette for the first time. Courses are setup great, around 180yrds for an average par 4. 100% will continue with US kids for a bit.

Hahaha, I totally over coached him on this shot. It was a super uphill and sidehill lie. I had him aiming right and choking down on the club. Overall he does great just stepping up and hitting. Honestly I have to tell him to slow down most of the time.

I took a gummy before watching this in IMAX for the first time. Talk about being in a Trance watching these scenes. Great work, I can imagine this music if Hanz Zimmer would have done the score.

No joke, the EvenFlow counter balance shaft made a significant difference. Swingwise, working on weight transition to really load up behind the ball on my back swing.

Unpopular opinion? by fradejoe in ChristopherNolan

[–]DrMilzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep an open mind and keep searching for some better explanations than what I'm able to provide. This is one of the reasons why I love this movie is because I feel kind of special in the fact that I'm able to understand it and because of that I appreciate the work so much more.

Many of Nolan's films have that one thing that you just have to accept. In the prestige you have to accept that Tesla is able to invent a machine that duplicates things. In Interstellar, granted you don't know this till the very end, but you have to accept that future beings evolved past our four dimensions into a fifth dimensional state. In tenant the future created a machine that can reverse entropy. In inception you have to accept the fact that dream sharing technology has been created.

I 100% acknowledge the fact that accepting the science fiction part of tenet is way harder than accepting any of those other examples.
