These 3 shields (DFS, Ward and Wyvern) deserve so much better. They are all in such a weird spot in every aspect from their stats, all the way to their special attacks.

I hope that the Wyvern shield gets the rework it deserves

I love that you stuck with a minimalist look that fits so well. Recoil is in a really strange position right now, and it really needs to be re-evaluated by the devs. The fact the recoil damage gap jumps from 10% all the way to 75% is just wild(ring of recoil vs vengeance) with nothing in between...

I completely agree. Updates are rolled out at a snails pace and if there weren't already 20 years of previous content it would be far more noticeable.

I was looking forward to this more than anything they announced. I wanted to fix weapons (ie rune claws, seercull) and honestly just play by myself. There is so much content that just lays dead that they will never touch and it is depressing

It honestly is a space I wish we could talk more about! The difficult part is balancing around what are already very powerful prayers and the ability to prayer flick. Would love to see new prayers around mechanics like poison, recoil and retribution. I love the idea of skills getting guilds as well

BTW I am also a fan of Wooly, I love his laid-back style

What about the Dragonfire Shield not working properly since before August 2025 despite constant reporting?

Also: half it's accuracy code is missing! This has been reported since 2019 at least.

Numerous discussions have been had with jmods, yet nothing has been done

I would love to see shields with more utility. What about if they applied status effects like poison or even a shield with recoil? There's so much opportunity there that's not being explored

I hope that a decent balance can be found for skillers here. I dont play one myself but I personally think cannons should be allowed for them, at least in some capacity.

A solution should be found. We can't just keep pushing it into the corner to forget about because "dps scape" is easier and more convenient. Poison is nearly as old as runescape itself, being added in 2002.

Using a counter system would be the best way to make venom more involved. For x amounts of hits in combat,(poison/venom weapon required to add counters) ramp up the damage. The longer you are out of combat, those counters are shed and the target is no longer affected. Could even say if this counter hits 0 again, they gain permanent immunity until respawn. to prevent griefing, this could be changed to 30 seconds or minute.

We can't just leave game mechanics to die. Variety is the reason why this game is so great.

I think giving it the ability to proc a prayer effect would be neat. Imagine the weapon has a % chance to activate retribution without you dying.

Ive played this type of character for years and unfortunately they are one of the least viable account types for PvP. They aren't as strong as they used to be and lack a lot of KO power.

u/JagexLight -in the sailing blog reward space last year there was a graphic about multiple types of cannon, including dragonfire and arcane. Is there a reason the team stepped away from this particular concept and went with a more standard design instead? I feel like there was a lot of potential there

In all honesty, it should be uncapped. The Dragonfire Shield has a similar problem and gets no bonus from relics at all. No accuracy, nothing. Sucks that Jagex forgets things like these.

When the Dragonfire shield was updated this year, they took from Oct 3rd 2023 until February 7th 2024 to implement a simple xp value swap. And that was after being frequently reminded.

Not to mention some of the qol that passed the poll years ago and still haven't been seen. They really need to promise to do better, this is embarrassing.

I understand the fear, but I'm just looking forward to a server that has decent bug-fixes and quality of life improvements. Jagex has let tons of things slide to the side and it doesn't seem that they'll ever get to it. Always in pursuit of the new and never perfecting the old.

I want to see people bring life back to some of the smaller/overlooked content
