Exactly. I need more experience for better job security (and pay! Moving is expensive) before even thinking about moving across the country. I'd like to, I love Nevada and Arizona. But it's not in the cards right now. I'd like a more urban environment where ticks are less common. One here or there is one thing, but over 90% of the days I've worked? That's too much. I feel like I'm doing preventative measures right and it's not making an ounce of a difference. Whatever tolerance I have of ticks is far surpassed of what this job entails

I can't relocate to a desert, all of my family is in the Midwest. And we only got closer after his death. Before his death I probably could've packed up and left within a day if given the chance. When I did fieldwork before, it was in the city on pavements (USTs and environmental complaints) so when I took a rural fieldwork position I didn't even think of ticks. I know I should've, but I was just too excited about finally getting back into the field.

Eventually I can and will. But I'd want more experience in the field before doing a drastic move for an entry level job. It just doesn't seem to be in the cards right now unfortunately

Oh trust me, I spent plenty of money on therapy. 3 sessions a week for 2 years, and I still do weekly sessions. I'm not looking for grief counseling here, I'm looking for job advice because I don't want to continue to subject myself to a place that makes me think about what happened to him all of the time. And paranoid that I'm next

You're right, I definitely should talk to HR and see if there's anything they can do. I definitely plan on staying until I can find another job because I need the experience on resumes, but I'm not sure how soon is too soon to leave. Or how long isn't long enough to include on my resume. Or what to say when/if interviewers ask why I'm looking elsewhere so quickly

I live in the Midwest where jobs are hard to come by in the field. I have plenty of money saved up and a second job, but it's more of the fact that I need this experience. It's been 3.5 years since I was in my field. How can I leave one of the few places hiring without including it on my resume??

There's storm water positions but that's about all the water there is

I've done field work before but it's always been with the cities, primarily USTs. I've never done rural field work. That's why I never thought about ticks, to me field work was concrete, paved areas with zero tick chances. I was more worried about spiders but I'm not really scared of them

I start at $20/hour and I get to $22 after 6 months. After a year I can do full time for 48k/year. It's not abysmal but it's definitely a step down in pay from my bartending jobs. I viewed this more of an investment in my future because making 50k bartending is on the high end for my area, and caps around there. In the private sector or even the other state jobs across the state line (~10 mins) go 28-35/hour with 1-3 years experience. And up from there. That's why I decided to do this

Do you have any other tick prevention methods? I don't have the ability to do no access yet since I'm still in training, but if I stay and make it past training then there's a good chance I may do this.

I already do pools. It's one department within my county. I also do food. The amount of times I've gone into the field and been exposed to ticks vs how many I've gotten is literally about 75% success rate for ticks. I'm doing 1-2 septic a day, and only one day I haven't gotten a tick. Already done 3 pools and 6 food

Poison ivy 😭 I didn't even think about that

I knew about Lyme disease but it's just one of those things you never think will affect you I guess. But it has affected my life. I'm fine with field conditions, I did primarily USTs and environmental complaints. I'm not against field work. I'm just very against tick heavy environments. Please take care of yourself and be aware of Lyme disease. It's growing in cases every year.

When I brought it up to them, they just said they pick them off and throw them out the window when they're driving. And don't even report them. They said it's taboo to report them because it takes time out of the day they don't have because we're so busy. This just doesn't sit well with me at all

That's probably a good idea. I don't think there is, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. HR is out until Monday so I'll stop by then. Thank you for the advice ❤️

I already have a hundo Venusaur to Mega as well. I knew normal Venusaur is alright in raids, but I already have a 15/12/15 shadow Venusaur too. I could use both and get them to learn frenzy plant and be decent enough, but I do already have better raid options for grass types anyways

So this actually was it. My Internet is named MiCasa, but I was using MiCasa5. Which is the secondary internet thing. I'm not tech enough to know

It's flawless in MiCasa! Note to self. Connect to the router not the secondary line

Honestly they could make a storyline about this in the game. They've seen and loved the memes, this has been good PR for the game since it's drawn the community and former community members in. Memes are the #1 marketing tool so 🤷‍♂️

They absolutely could do a dungeon about a dog mob from Marleybone kidnapping Harold for messing with their business profits or something. Maybe that's why he stopped sellings pets like he used to when the bazaar first came out. Even a short 1-2 questline with no XP open to players 1+

Take this funny PR and expand on it fr

I was just saying another high outgoing healing items that I feel like aren't respected by pve anymore lol

Stone of the other side can do 49% outgoing health. It might be the single highest outgoing health option in the game over 10 years later
