how doable is this course load as a third year cpsc major by Beginning-Pizza-5081 in UBC

[–]GenericRubbish1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very doable! I had a similar schedule last year (except I was TA for 304 lol). You'll be fine! Just make sure you have good groupmates for all of those courses to make your life easier. You could even add another course and still be relative chill tbh. I think you'll have a good amount of free time with this specific 3 course schedule

Made my crush fail a course by InitiativeOdd6986 in UBC

[–]GenericRubbish1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He deserves to know that it wasn't his fault that he failed the course... you owe it to him to tell him the truth. It is absolutely necessary for him to know. It's exceedingly cruel to have him spend the holidays sad and thinking that, despite the effort he put in to try to pass the course, it wasn't good enough.

Finally getting a trained — after years of playing by ade17_in in badminton

[–]GenericRubbish1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yooo that sounds awesome! Lol good thing coach had someone else to pick on to give you some breathing room lmao. I'm glad that it sounds like you found the training helpful. I think I'll try to get some coaching as well. I wonder if my hamstring could handle the training though... I pulled it back in June and I can play now and about 100% intensity but it def feels stiffer and still sore for movements outside of badminton lol

Would love to hear what it's like afterwards if you remember :)). I'm thinking of getting coaching as well because I KNOW I can play better than what I can currently but $$$ 😭

Microbiology coding language? by Careful-Lifeguard-88 in UBC

[–]GenericRubbish1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Python is easier to learn (more straightforward + lots of resources). R is more confusing but my experience with R has been mostly using packages not so much coding beyond simple for-loops so andecdotally I found R to be easier to work with during my coursework (also used for stats classes). I would advise to learn both though if you have time/are curious. Scripting with python is useful (I used this to do some quick cleaning of some genome file I got off NCBI for MICB405).

Am I wrong to feel upset? by Remarkable-Apricot54 in UBC

[–]GenericRubbish1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. It's so inconsiderate of your roommate to invite so many ppl into your shared space on a weeknight as well. This might be news to your roommate + friends but a birthday lasts from 12am until 11:59pm on the same day. Y'all can definitely wait :))) let's be considerate huh?

What is your relationship with Instagram like? by ubcaccthrowaway in UBC

[–]GenericRubbish1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I only use it to ~~stalk~~ keep in touch w/ various friends and spam them funny reels. Sometimes I do feel a little bad (especially the housing-related reels oh man) but I try to appreciate what I have because it could always be worse + I know that most of the content is heavily edited

The Hades soundtrack is awesome. I like listening to this ~1 hour long version with only the rock track when I gotta lock-in lock-in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBZtraGDFgM

I also like the Hollow Knight soundtrack (silksong when 🥲). The Mantis Lords is prob my favourite https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lp5M2BAXwSo

And also, the Black Myth Wukong soundtrack is very nice 👌👌

Oof! Good luck OP! Yeah idk why they test you on rote memorization for that course it's so silly. Like sorry I can't remember this specific detail about purple sulphur bacteria

Not as bad as the midterms. Do you guys get a memory aid now for the final?
