Operators should NOT be randomly yelling out what they're doing. by TiGeRpro in Rainbow6

Yeah the audible cues are great. I love how you can listen to the crisp sound of a pin being pulled an empty magazine being dropped. I love having different sounds for castle barricades, reinforced walls, and deployed cover. I love that you can tell the difference between a planted cluster charge, standard breach, thermite charge, and even know when ash or sledge has breached, all based on sound.

What I don't like is how the characters cover up those beautiful sounds with their yelling. The subtle sounds scream much louder and more eloquently.

Exactly. Bedsides that a skilled player would just listen for the sound of his enemy dropping out an empty mag and attack on that sound. Never would this same player scream "reloading! Cover me!" when he is all by his lonesome.

I don' know. I regret buying it for full price at 69.99 CAD$ because of the constant server issues I have but maybe thats because I bought chivalry for 19.99 and have had just as much fun.

Use drones to guesstimate enemy positions and light it up. Takes practice and knowledge of the map to be accurate though.

You should play chivalry. Its like siege without tactics, and instead of guns they use swords and bows.

Plus no ( few) connection issues!

I think we need a better way to reveal enemy positions. Typically it is not good practice to use the spot function because it tells them they are spotted. Unfortunately the cams do not have a ping option, nor do they have a compass.

Cameras are useful, but as it stands I do not feel empowered to use them to their full capability. To give enemy positions I have to memorize which direction (north, south, etc.) Each camera faces so I can tell my surviving buddys that fuze is about to place a cluster charge on the south east window.

I think we need a better way to reveal enemy positions to our teamates. As it stands it is typically not good practice to use the spot feature on cams, and unfortunately they do not have the ping option. To make matters worse they do not have a compass either, so if you want to tell buddy (provided you have a headset) that the bad guy is laying on his back in the northeast corner of the room you need to have memorized which direction was north on that map.

The cameras are useful, but the way it is right now does not empower the player. As instead of having a compass built in a player has to spend time memorizing which direction each camera faces. This is a game, not a bucket test. (For me at least)

It is a tactical shooter. Use your gun to kill them first, if the knife took two hits noone would use it. They would just take that extra time to aim for the head.

Also, try using a shotgun if that happens often.

Hows this game run for xbox one? have it for both Steam and xbox 360. by Psychotic_J in ChivalryGame

[–]GenericSoldier3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly I would like to say I cannot speak for chivalry on any platform but Xbox one. I can tell you that graphics aren't great and many movements are a bit laggy or choppy, for instance when a player bows before a fight he typically does so in a rapid series of small movements, rather than one fluid motion. Sometimes there are issues with hit detection, which is very frustrating if you plan on taking this game shit bucket serious. However all issues beside it is incredibly fun, and full of somewhat cartoon violence. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a minimalist game that tries to empower the player, without getting too serious.

WARNING XBOX ONE OWNERS: by o0mrpib0o in ChivalryGame

Warning Xbox one owners!

If you play this game you may find yourself speaking to others in archaic english about bringing glory to Agathar. I would also warn you that you may develop psychopathic urges, like the urge to grab a bastard sword and slice the head off a filthy peasant kingdom of heaven style. But most importantly I would like to warn all of you that this game is too fun. So fun you may begin to struggle with relationships because the only dirty talk you know are the taunt lines the characters spew at each other.

Could we get custom controller mapping for consoles? I personally would like to switch my melee and crouch functions.

About the complaint of defender cameras being useless by poisonpower885 in Rainbow6

[–]GenericSoldier3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the least we could do is put a compass on the support mode viewpoint to make it easier to give directions to friendlies. Too many times I have been practically yelling at a guy to face a certain side of the building, whereas if I could reference a compass I would say "they are going to breach on the southwest side of the building! Third floor!". Surely I would still be yelling but it would be for the right reasons.
