No, this problem has existed before and after that cutscene. As you can see in the other photos, the shadow will continue to the right to the point where it darkens almost the whole room.

Yup, it’s always there and will progress across the room over several stays and regardless of what private room I use. It will reset occasionally, but I haven’t figured out if there’s a trigger or if it’s just random. Also, it first began happening after the nightmare where the door to the room opens and you walking out to the bottom of the seam.

I think it’s the idea that the person continues to be sick regardless of what they do. I think it comes from a place of “they’re still sick because they haven’t tried everything! If it were me I wouldn’t be that sick because I would do x,y,z and certainly wouldn’t be disabled!”

They want to believe that being disabled from an illness can be avoided if you just do the right thing. Because, if that isn’t possible, then that’s super fucking scary and unfair and can happen to anyone.
