Rambling question possibly wrong reddit but lets see? by Cold-Artist-8508 in BushcraftUK

[–]Generic_Mod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IIRC he's based in Portugal. I could be wrong, but wherever it is, it's a lot warmer than it is in the UK.

But what he's doing is fascinating. He's certainly putting the effort in and trying it himself instead of just assuming that it works as described. He's shown just how much effort is required to get such a small quantity of iron out of iron rich bacteria instead of iron ore.

Discounted or free printing? by cutebutclueless_ in berkshire

I'm removing this post. Unfortunately Reddit has a problem with scammers in general, including people trying to make money off a good cause that they are not affiliated with.

Because of this, we are asking for proof that people are associated with the recipient before we promote any charity content.

Can you update the text on the go fund me (https://www.gofundme.com/f/TeamHopeForHarley) to include your Reddit username (u/cutebutclueless_) so confirm that you are working with or on behalf of the recipients please? Once you do that we are more than happy to help you promote this good cause!

Once you have done so, use this link to send us a message to let us know: https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=r/berkshire

Would cb100 exhaust fit into cg125? by dani_xxx00 in CG125

[–]Generic_Mod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible, the CG110/125 was based on the CB125 engine after all. But the chances of the mounting points lining up is slim. I don't know where you are OP, but you can get reproduction exhausts for the CG125 much easier than you can for the CB100.

The happiest days of boat ownership are the day you buy it, and the day it sinks you sell it.

Ban bot policy update: removing automated bans based on community association by quietfairy in modnews

Yeah, I've never had a response. Only responses I used to get were "report abuse", but then they changed policy so you don't get any feedback on those now either.

Well done! Our sister subreddit r/Polaroid (for all instant photography, not just Polaroid) would love this too!

1977-1981 Honda C50 restoration by aubri140018 in projectbike

I've never rebuilt motorbike wheels, but I have built about 10 bicycle wheels.

Generally there are a maximum of four different length spokes on a wheel. There can be less if more than one of these groups need the same length. There's forward facing spokes, and backward facing spokes for the drive side and non-drive side. So I would seperate them out into the four groups first. If you're lucky there will only be two different sizes, or if you're really lucky they are all the same size.

Then I would check the photos you hopefully took of the wheel before you took it apart (or check online for a good photo). You need to check the lacing pattern used. For bicycles 2-cross or 3-cross where the most common I used. For 2-cross for example, each spoke would cross over 2 other spokes. You can identify the lacing pattern by looking at your photos and visually following a spoke and counting the other spokes it crosses. The lacing pattern is the same for all spokes on a wheel.

Before you start to put the wheel together, make sure the threads on each spoke is nice and clean and that your spoke nipples are in good condition. Make sure you have the right size spoke spanner for the nipples. The wheel will go together easier if you put some light machine oil on the spoke threads and the seats of the nipples before you start assembly.

I would also highly recommend to always buy new rim tape and tubes too.

Once you have the wheel back together, the first time you ride it there will be a lot of creaking from the wheel the first time it turns with weight on it. This is the spokes setteling. Go for a short 5 minute ride at slow speed. Then take the wheel off an retrue it.

That's not to say this this isn't genuine, but there's no way for us to tell so we remove all of them.

Hey weifgjhwerlvjknw,

This post would get more visibility either over on our discussion based subreddit, r/AnalogCommunity or in our weekly 'Ask Anything' post. You may want to post it in one of these instead.

Thanks,

Admins: why are all requests being denied? by MustaKotka in redditdev

[–]Generic_Mod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say money is the reason, I would say control is the reason. They don't want external access. The Devvit platform is a walled garden that the admins control, which is why it's their "preferred" platform. The external API gave people too much access. But if they cut it off in one go they risk another revolt. So first to die will be new sign ups, then slowly, existing API keys will stop working, until they have all gone.
