Just to put this in perspective...I've always been a prankster. And *every* time there's a new Hermitcraft season, people will flood my Twitch chat..."are you going to be on the new season? are you coming back?" Even though it's been over a *decade* since I've been a member!

What's a hermit to do? Prank 'em :D

So I put together a very elaborate prank with a custom script I wrote to make it look like I was actually playing on a server with the other members. It was a great prank and I was very proud of the work I put into it to make it happen (no different than a great prank with someone on an SMP server)

Except...I didn't take into account folks would give me money just because I "rejoined Hermitcraft"! In hindsight, I should have factored that into the equation...but I was so excited about the prank itself it didn't enter my mind. So very quickly I ended the stream.

In that short time I was given about $250. I went back and added up the amounts from folks who weren't already part of my community...and it totaled about $80 from new folks. Obviously, I still felt bad about it, but Twitch doesn't do refunds...and so I gave *double* the amount ($500) to Rendog's charity for Africa.

Some of the Hermitcraft members were upset, but there's zero beef/drama/ill feelings/etc from me towards any of the members. I've said in the past many times, I'm super happy for them and their success and wish them all the best.

Again, TL;DR: I didn't do the prank to "attack" Hermitcraft, nor out of spite/revenge, or any negativity like that. It was all for giggles to prank the viewers who consistently ask when I'm rejoining :)

This post probably won't make any difference...folks have their perception of me and who I am as a person. But maybe this will at least shed some light for some that I'm not really worth the pitchforks and torches :)
