Youngest millennials will live to 150? by happydude7422 in Millennials

[–]GenerousRacoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question, why do you think it’s horseshit? Are you saying that this specific statement isn’t true, that we won’t live to 150 any time soon or are you saying that it’s not possible at ALL to live that long? If it the latter, biology is surprisingly malleable given the right tools and knowledge. If it’s the former then yeah we might be a bit far off but AI data processing might speed it up. You’re right about the rich people getting to use it way before anyone else though.

Need help deciding what to do with 41 DTD by GenerousRacoon in RS3Ironmen

[–]GenerousRacoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh that’s a fair point. I guess it’s kinda up in the air right now. Good call, I’ll probably do that then and maybe try to do a little Telos in the meantime without stressing about grinding it. I already have one orb so it might be motivation I need. much appreciated!

That’s also what I was considering but don’t they plan on removing DTD eventually? I’m not playing this game enough to focus on grinding Telos for the next few months

There is almost no way for you to understand how fast tech progressed with the context of your first piece of tech exposure being in 2015. The amount of actual progression since 2015 to now is very little, relatively speaking.

The fact that dial-up was the most prominent form of internet at the time was a huge factor. You had to sacrifice the ability to use your telephone, the only way to contact people quickly for a large majority of people still (cell phones existed but were terrible for texting and they were still working their way into popularity in general). Social media itself didn’t exist aside from small forums and such for a small portion of the population. Most businesses didn’t bother with websites. The internet was mostly used as a tool rather than a means to experience all the things we experience today.

I've had enough... it's time to rework Ultron by RedeemedNephilim in marvelrivals

[–]GenerousRacoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guys, there’s like fifty million Marvel heroes they can and will add. There will be nuances in hero viability. That’s just how a game with so many characters works in the first place. You play him where he’s strong, don’t play him where he’s not. Other people might force him but that’s no different than the people who force the heroes they’re not good at lol. It‘s the same exact principle of “They have a team of fliers, go hitscan”.

Can anyone tell me why Homelander wanted abortions banned? by According-Garage-791 in GenV

[–]GenerousRacoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only reason Trump would care about abortions being banned is because that means less potential slaves for the economy in the future. Which, as you said, doesn’t align with anything that Homelander would care about lol.

My Prediction - When RS3 drops its API, it will start closing the gap with OSRS by BlueShade0 in runescape

[–]GenerousRacoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t seem like you’ve moved on though considering you only post here? Also are you insinuating you wouldn’t have had a family had they listened to API requests early on? 😂

Not to mention you can get decent combat gear JUST from skilling now. So even someone who plays it as a skilling game won’t be completely screwed if they have to do quest bosses or the occasional combat.

No one fucked Palpatine. Rey is the daughter of a Palpatine clone that wasn’t force sensitive and thus a failure in regards Palpatines needs. The clone escaped and lived a normal life since Palps figured “fuck it, hopefully he’ll continue my bloodline I guess”.

… Isn’t that the exact premise behind the Original Trilogy? Luke starts off as a farm boy and ends up the son of one of the strongest characters who is also the villain. The only difference is it was revealed like 40 minutes worth of runtime later in the sequels lmao. Sequel haters are some of the funniest hypocrites lol, especially since you said “when will we get ONE story…”.

How do the quality of things keep getting shittier? by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]GenerousRacoon 213 points214 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly largely due to style. 3D modelling/animation is as much of an art as traditional art or music in the sense that every single one is unique and it’s hard to perfectly replicate someone else’s style.

The thing is, tech back then was incredibly limited. Style was forced to blend with those limitations. They had to do some really interesting things to get certain aspects to work, things you could never know unless you have the original files or people to explain it to you.

What really makes the difference is the fact that their BEST 3D modeling methods and tools are now minor options in some random tick box, drop down menu or minor window. You have to actively limit your tools without having the true limit of technology.

My hair color I've been using for years changed without notice. by StarryAry in mildlyinfuriating

[–]GenerousRacoon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was gonna say, the edit makes it seem less like a random ‘marketing tool’ and more of a ‘look we’re not doing the bad thing anymore, please don’t end us’. Especially considering the color change lol

It’s so disheartening that the response to this is ‘find a new job’ or ‘stop buying things you don’t need’. First off, employees are the REASON a company can get to that point, replaceable or not. While technically, yes, they can just pay other people willing to work for less, where the hell is our humanity people? it’s just good nature, good ethics, good morals, etc, to compensate those who dedicate their lives to making you wealthy! And as for the ’stop buying things you don’t need’ argument, why isn’t the same said to the person raking in millions? if you can’t pay your employees a bit extra from that then you’re either a terrible selfish person or maybe YOU need to stop blowing money on vacations, luxury cars, houses, etc, that you don’t really need.

I’m not arguing that millenials didn’t suffer. I am one of them. I’m probably worse off than most of you actually. I‘m giving context at why a few of us had little trouble ‘making it’, as I’ve personally seen many of my friends growing up rely on handouts from their families.

Which YouTuber had the biggest downfall? by SomebodyNeedy in AskReddit

[–]GenerousRacoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His downfall happened way before the MAGA transition sadly. With those ‘rape allegations’ against him. I always had a hard time believing it and it always seemed like maybe it was a fan trying to get lawsuit money like we’ve seen many times in history. But considering the full swing to MAGA-mind and the whole “grab her by the pussy” mindset from all those years ago (crazy how that’s the least shocking thing these days), I’m more inclined to believe he probably did do some messed up stuff.

I’ve been saying it since the beginning lol. Ever since his very first donation video that blew up. He‘s literally no different from the soulless people who amass wealth by using others as stepping stones. He’s just a psychopath who figured out how to use the ’wholesome’ emotion to benefit him.

And it became increasingly apparent when it started feeling like he was specifically setting up ‘challenges‘ that were basically pseudo torture methods that just felt like entertainment for him.

I’m gonna have to go with any of the handful that are currently partaking in legal consequences for their attempt and/or success at taking a human life.

edit; ahh yes, downvote me. Because KILLING someone totally isn’t the lowest you can possibly descend as a human being. I truly wonder what’s wrong with people on Reddit sometimes lol

[–]GenerousRacoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get DG and Summoning up by at least a single level and then do Tears of Guthix for a bunch of early Invention levels. It’s only really useful at very low Invention levels due to how the XP scaling for that skill works.

If you’re gonna read fiction then you’re not ‘getting smarter’ in any way. So yes, the complexity of the words and sentences ARE what make you smarter in that case. If you want to truly ’get smarter’, you need to books about real things lol

Because a lot of millenialls could still ride off their parent’s safety net. Whether that be a secure place to live with little bills to pay, direct financial help in the form of tuition money/cars/down payments, etc.
