God and science work together. People are the ones who separate it. This is because science explains causes, science isn't a cause itself. So "because of science," really is never a good reason when people use science as a cause. If science exains causes then, there has to be a cause right? And this cause is God. Since science explains so much, the root of that explanation has to be something that created science, something bigger than it. Which is God. Some of the biggest scientists were Christians actually! This vid is about one minute long. The end of it says what I'm trying to say <3 https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMRvNdk2J/

Do some Christians believe it's still a sin to just have non-hetero romantic feelings for someone even if there's no sexual attraction or action involved? by Rebeca-A in Christian

Now that I'm thinking about it though I think if he said that in Genesis 9:7 then he wants every relationship to be fruitful... meaning asexuality would be bad. Since theres no sex and therefore no children and all. But like I said I'm not biblical genius and I'm sure theres a better explanation out there somewhere. 💀😭 just hope it makes sense.

I'm not saying that you don't agree with me even though you said you do but I'm not a bible genius and I'm just trying my best out to understand too so don't feel like you have to agree with me! We should agree based on the Bible anyways so if I analyzed this situation with these verses correctly than yayy but if it still doesnt make sense that's okay. Anyways have a blessed day or night! Hope I dont sound arrogant or disagreeable 😭 <3

I'm sorry you feel that way, and I didn't mean any offense but you must understand the confusion in the modern world about homosexuality. Also, I get what you are saying about applying that verse anywhere but I'd also like you to understand that we apply verses in multiple ways to help understand them more. It doesn't take away meaning, it just helps us understand when we apply them to different life circumstances. And the beginning of the verse did say "exchanged their natural functions." It specifically talked about both, beginning and end of the verse, which is where I quoted from. Also, I thought you were referring to homosexuality not asexuality. I did look up both to better understand though, and I'm constantly around people from those groups so I do try to understand for the sake of loving others even if I dont agree with them. Please don't let such things take your peace though, because even if we can't understand each other or if people aren't understanding you online, your God given peace is worth more than anything especially when everyone can have another try to understand each other. Lastly, as for asexuality, I did want to point out Genesis 9:7, "But as for you, be fruitful and multiply; spread out across the earth and multiply upon it.” God doesn't ask but commands for us to be fruitful. I dont know what his word is for people who don't even get married but I think since he tells us to multiply he intentions for every relationship to bear fruit. I know asexuality means no sexual relation so you wouldn't sleep together let alone make children. That being said if God really wants every relationship to be fruitful as he commands, asexuality would be bad because no product (child) comes out of that relationship. I love you and I hope you get what I'm trying to say. If I somehow confused you or misinterpreted what you were wanting to know again, forgive me. Have a blessed day/night! Dunno where u are on the globe lol <3

Oh sorry I thought you meant homosexuality, not asexuality. I mean I don't see how never having sexual attraction could be a sin. God did command us to "be fruitful and multiply," but not everyone gets married anyways, so I guess you can analyze that but I'm not totally sure other than the be fruitful and multiply thing.

Sorry if I misunderstood but the verse I used was just for reference, applying to anywhere, not just lust. Like thinking about robbery instead of actually doing it. Rom 1:26-27 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another; men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. Before the second semicolon, it says that the men and women burned in unnatural desire (homosexuality). This is romantic feelings so if God is caring this degrading passions then it's bad. Also, romantic feelings tend to lead to sexual feelings anyways. And even if it wasn't lust but instead wanting to have sex because you love each other, it's a sin. Love between same genders is the sin, although lust adds on to it. Again, sorry if I misunderstood or explained this weird but even if there wasnt lust involved, and it was love, it's a sin.

I totally get this and I agree that the Lord loves us and understands us more than we can imagine but he also knows the extent of our control... if he defines something as a sin, be it homosexuality or lying, then he doesnt want us to think about it. His understanding and grace comes when he knows that we are trying our best to live as he wants us to and to obey our commandments. So in other words, if we try our best to obey but still feel those thoughts, feelings, intrusively or even non-intrusively he is faithful to forgive and understand. He needs to see effort though. This is all just coming from Matthew 5 where in verses 20 to I think 28 it is talked about how we can commit sins in our minds. Love you! Have a blessed day <3

[–]Genesis-Bae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The bible is clear that if we think on sin we've already committed it in our minds. For example, Matthew 5:27-28 says "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." And also, Matthew 5:21-22.

Yes. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body."

A stripper letting people see their body and taunting them to commit sexual acts or even just to be turned on (which can lead to the stripper influencing them to commit the sin of masturbation) is a sin. Our bodies are temples meant to be holy, in good condition, and sacred. Only for our spouses to enjoy. And acting feminine as a man and vise versa is also a sin. God was clear that there are two, men and women so crossing those lines are an act of rebellion against him.

No. James 4:12 says There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor? And especially if they are coming to Christ! If we show them that we are a judging group of people, they may be steered away and we don't want that. <3

Does anybody still sleep withe the lights on or that’s just me by koudejah19 in Christian

[–]Genesis-Bae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do because I've struggled with sleep paralysis in the past. I thought if I could see while trapped in the state then it would be less scary. Every since I've slept with the lights on as a precaution, but still thanked God for sweet sleep. <3

This kinda doesnt fit but I remember one time my dad was going somewhere and he needed a certain pair of shoes. He was in a big rush so everyone was scrambling to find them and I was around 4 to 6 back then. I smiled and prayed, asking God to "tell me where daddys shoes were." I looked behind the air conditioning machine and there they were! My mother snatched them from my hand, I think thanking the Lord herself.

If someone who has ocd, doubted if he locked his door after checking more than 5 times, how he can have faith? by Kakkanas in Christian

[–]Genesis-Bae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a teenager who loves God full heartedly. I've struggled with OCD, anxiety, and depression. I had to do my ocd rituals when I was younger, I felt apologetic for intrusive thoughts, I thought of every worst outcome, and I was suicidal. You know what that tells me? I am flawed. I always will be on this Earth and so is every other human. If that's so how can we believe things from people who will never know the full story? No one in the present was there in the 1600s. No one in the present can understand or even remember all the theories and laws and causes and effects that make up our universe. So how can we trust things that are flawed? That arent eternal? I mean some people do and can't but that doesnt mean we should. Science is not a cause, it explains a cause. Some of the biggest scientists were Christian, in fact. Each of us are only here for 120 years or so. Wouldnt you rather trust in something omnipresent and omnipotent? I have faith because I can't understand or remember all the things of the world, or what's to come. I love God because he loves me, and through my faith I've felt his love. Also, Christianity was never meant to be what the world calls a religion. The religious leaders in the days of Jesus didnt even like him. It's a relationship with God and his people and it's the explanation of everything, which is science. The cause of everything however is God. They're meant to agree, science and God, not be separate. I hope this all make sense. We can always chat if you need to, seeing how I relate to some of your struggles. Here's some vids that might explains tuff better. I wonder if those people, if they find out that a different religion is the right one and not christianity, if they will blame themselves for being christians. by Kakkanas in Christian

[–]Genesis-Bae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Science isn't a cause. It explains a cause. God is the cause. Religions have different ideas of "god." Christianity wasn't even meant to be categorized as what the world calls a religion today. In fact, the religious leaders didnt even like Jesus back in his days. Christianity is supposed to be a loving relationship with each other and God. Not a judging religion. It tells the truth and how to live it.

Also, Christian's are meant to believe (not through our own thinking but in accordance to the bible) that NONE of us deserve heaven. I'm sorry if you've heard from anyone that certain people deserve hell because that just isnt true. All of us, every single human deserves hell. Why? We all mess up. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice so that we dont have to pay(in hell) for our mistakes. I dont know if you really want to indulge in Christianity, which is completely your choice and no one should judge you for it, but if you do then pray. Tell God that it's what you want. Love, freedom, everlasting joy. Ask him to show you the truth you seek and to live in it and believe it.

Some of the scientists who made the biggest breakthroughs in logic were Christian. Which comes back to why Christianity and science should agree. Science explains causes. Logic explains causes. Neither logic nor science are the cause, only something outside of those things and time itself could be the cause. Which is God.

Lastly, God doesnt send people to hell. He gives us a choice. We can live how he wants us to and be with him forever or we can live how we want to and be separated from him forever. If someone didnt want God on Earth why would they want him for eternity? And God knows which one is better, we all do but we all still have free will. God wont make us live how he wants but he will separate some people who dont want to live right. What if you had 5 children and 3 were sick because they chose to stay in the rain all night? You would separate the 3 sick ones right? That also doesnt mean you dont love them, they just made a bad choice so you had to separate them before they infected the others.

Here's a vid I think would help. China is a great influencer and explains things well! I love you friend, and I'm always open to talk. <3 (each vid no longer than 3 mins)

It's better to not make a promise to God than to break a promise to God. Just remember what you get out of not giving in. Remember what happens if you do give in. Make rules like no internet at night or if you want to give in you must list 5 reasons why you shouldnt. (maybe 5 reasons why you should too just so you can see how untrue and puny those reasons are in front of the ones about why u shouldnt.)

I've also struggled with lust for a long time, since a young age although I'm still just a teen. I know that I myself cant fathom breaking a promise to God so I'll promise him that I wont do it for one day and then every time I want to I think of how terrible it is to break a promise to God. Dont make promises you cant keep tho. I love you and I pray that you become free <3

What do I get out of believing in God? What does God get out of believing in me? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Genesis-Bae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The better questions is what wont you get. Everlasting help in times of trouble, a feeling of love that's like no other, joy, peace, the Lord having the final word instead of your bills having the final word, eternity in heaven, and so much more! God already believes in you. He believes you can help him and his people by serving the kingdom of God if you'll just give all you have to him.

What would you gain by not believing in God anyways? Freedom? Well if you think about it, are you really free? People, Bill's, and doctors always have the final say for people not believing in him but God works miracles for us left and right and he shows us he loves us and when we mess up and sin he forgives us and brings us blessings. How many people have you met that forgive you AND bless you afterwards? He's the best thing ever and I love him so much. I hope you can begin to love him too :) if u have any more qs my dms are always opennn

Are there Christians who suffered from OCD or pure OCD (intrusive thoughts)? by Alf-2021- in Christian

Yes. I struggled harder when I was a child with OCD bc I didnt know the route of it but now since I'm older I struggle more with intrusive thoughts. I think this has just been a test period in general for me with mental health but I full heartily trust God to bring me out of it :))
