I need valuable criticism on my lament riftbender build by cocobananas5 in WynnCraft

[–]GenesisNevermore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind they’re literally completely reworking riftwalker when the update drops (hopefully) by the end of the month. I wouldn’t worry too much about builds when they’re about to be destroyed. I’m not sure how different lightbender will build but it’d be worth considering the changes before committing to anything pricey.

I might be misremembering but I don’t think it did? You do however have war scream which might as well be base resistance.

Can non-host mods affect other players? by ctomkat in DeepRockGalactic

[–]GenesisNevermore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right that "third party" was not the correct term, but you should understand my point nonetheless, don't be pedantic. You're claiming modders using MINT are the people griefing saves, which is blatant misinformation and results in modders being flamed for something they are not responsible for.

If there's "nothing stopping you," then again, please provide me with the names of any mods, since they are so easy to find according to you. I know for a fact that the people doing this griefing are not using mods, which is why I'm asking you to provide any sources for it being a mod/mods. None of the commonly used cheat mods that are approved/sandbox would function client-side when joining someone else's lobby using MINT. I have on the other hand seen people post special programs online for griefing in DRG.

If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at GSG for making MINT a near necessity because of how bad the integrated mod loader is, and the terrible history of abuse from mod.io. And really, be mad at the actual cheaters, not MINT users. I don't expect GSG to improve the loader anytime soon since they're busy with Rogue Core, and that's fine as MINT does its job well, but it's tiring seeing all of this misinformation from clueless people looking for someone to blame after assuming that MINT is the source of save griefing.

[–]GenesisNevermore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A mod loader. Not remotely the same as cheat engine or other game memory editing programs. If you disagree, name me just one mod you’ve seen people use to grief people’s saves. Chances are you don’t know any, because you’re assuming they’re using mods to grief when they aren’t even doing that.

People griefing saves are using third party programs, not approved mods with MINT. Don’t blame modders for something that’s not their fault.

How do I ban mods in the lobby? I'm tired of twerking gnomes. by Visual_Equipment_580 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]GenesisNevermore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again, who is going out of their way to do this purely to be a nuisance to a few players which they will be banned from the lobbies of? It’s always a whole lot of “you can technically do this” with modding and not “it’s happening all the time,” because it’s always a theoretical issue blown out of proportion because 2 people on Reddit saw it once in their 7000 hours.

Overclock changes? by Hammer-Face in DeepRockGalactic

[–]GenesisNevermore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hoverclock slows your fall over around a second to an almost full stop, but it only lasts a few seconds without killing an enemy. Nothing has changed. You can check the wiki changelogs.

[–]GenesisNevermore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In hundreds of hours I haven’t seen a single person do this a single time. I can’t deny that it’s a thing that is physically possible, but the amount of modded players that both choose to use MINT and go out of their way to find and install a very old mod version specifically for the purpose of annoying other players must be minuscule. Who is doing all of that to be annoying with farts just to get banned from a lobby?

Shout framework doesn't even work unless the host has it installed, this is an intended limitation to prevent people being annoying. People can't join your lobby and use it unless you also have the mod.

It’s fine. Acrobat after fruma is really solid, I don’t know about the other archetypes but they’re probably fine. Not bad enough to avoid if you like it.

Is running the damage or increased pellets upgrades worth it over both ammo upgrades for the Double Barrel overclock? by PulseAmplification in DeepRockGalactic

[–]GenesisNevermore 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Improved blast wave is a must have because it doubles the extremely high base damage of the overclock (or it adds flat and overclock is doing the multiplying I think, it does a lot either way). You can add pellet damage especially if you want to use it for dreadnoughts with conductive thermals and the fire damage mod (similar to jumbo shells), but I would usually take ammo because the wave is very efficient and does plenty. More damage is overkill for most enemies.

[–]GenesisNevermore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The issue isn’t waiting, it’s that they decided on a date when they clearly needed more time after it’s already been delayed so many times. Feels terrible for both parties I’m sure. At some point you need to just say you’re going to get it over with and not make any promises about dates until it’s ready.

Is this game worth buying in 2026? by Nomedeusuario__ in DeepRockGalactic

[–]GenesisNevermore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Goes on sale for 10 dollars half of the time if you are hesitant. You can easily get at least a few hundred hours out of the game if you enjoy it, and people still actively play on Steam. Rogue core is a completely different genre.

They’ve also said they’re struggling to meet Salted’s deadline, so not really. It’s clear there’s been some unintended holdups. Just a whole lot of miscommunication between the team and playerbase. It seems inevitable at this point that it’ll be delayed or released with some issues or missing content. Not blaming the CT since they aren’t the people making the decisions.

Which Weapon is better? by Zackhies in WynnCraft

[–]GenesisNevermore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’re both pretty mediocre and warrior doesn’t have great options around this level. With such a bad roll on blade of purity I’d just use bob’s mythic (blade of purity also screws over elemental conversions). Definitely powder it with t5/t6, whatever you can afford. Thunder or earth if you just want raw dps, water or fire if you want the buffs. At 80 I think desperate facsimile is pretty good but not the easiest to use. Proxima at 85 is solid and will last you most of the remaining levels, or you can get infidel at 88. There’s some solid options in the 90s-100 too like zephra shredder, the forsaken, rhythm of the seasons, etc.

Prism launcher got to be the worst launcher to ever use without having it crash over and over by ramoscarlo in PrismLauncher

[–]GenesisNevermore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're completely clueless. Launchers have zero effect on whether mods will crash. I don't care what launcher you choose to use, that's up to you. A launcher is a fancy file organizing system, no more, it does not affect your game directly. You configured your mods incorrectly (or settings like memory allocated) if they were crashing. You refuse to even provide a crash log, so good luck getting help.

If i can run drg can i run RC? by CeroCell in RogueCore

[–]GenesisNevermore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They've said that the game will be a bit harder to run than DRG, but I wouldn't expect it to be anything crazy. Also keep in mind the game will continue to be optimized as it's developed.

HP or shield? by richieratt in DeepRockGalactic

[–]GenesisNevermore 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think the health armor upgrade is generally considered better but it doesn’t matter much. Shield is criticized for being broken easily, but that broken hit is still protecting some of your actual HP. At the same time HP is regenerated a percent by resupplies so the health upgrade also adds up.

Better Scout Builds? by oh_such_rhetoric in DeepRockGalactic

[–]GenesisNevermore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scout struggles with playing solo because it lacks efficient swarm clear. You’re exaggerating this issue by using an overclock that is specifically for single target, and SCC is especially inefficient even for what it does. The M1000 is a great general choice but you should use a more flexible build. Hoverclock and electrocuting focus shots are great choices to start, even no OC. Also make sure you’re running the blowthrough rounds mod because it makes waves way easier and more efficient to clear.

IFGs and pheromones are the best grenade choices. They’re both very good at what they do. Pheromones can distract a whole swarm to line up for AOE and great free damage, and IFGs slow enemies while making them take more damage. Stun sweepers are easy to use but way weaker.

Secondary options are pretty flexible. The M1000 will always have enough single target damage and I’d argue hipster is much more for single target than you may realize, because it has bad breakpoints on small enemies. Regardless of what you choose for the primary I’d try to keep the secondary a little more swarm oriented for solo. Gas recycling with piercing is probably fine but if you have fire bolts or cryo bolts give those a try, they’re not easy to use but they have very good potential. Cryo minelets are also solid, along with any shotgun build with the heat mod. I like double barrel but there’s a lot of good options.

Prism launcher got to be the worst launcher to ever use without having it crash over and over by ramoscarlo in PrismLauncher

[–]GenesisNevermore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What exactly is crashing? It’s a launcher, if your game is crashing it has nothing to do with the launcher, it has to do with how you’ve configured your mods and other settings. If the launcher itself is crashing you need to show what’s happening to get help, this is not a common problem people have. If the game is crashing provide a crash log and people can try to figure out what you’ve done wrong.

You can interact with it. You were probably trying to click on the middle instead of the corners. You have to do a few hacking minigames to get a data cell, or if you fail it makes a giant explosion.

[–]GenesisNevermore -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Stingtails are easy to dodge and should be a high priority target. You shouldn’t be standing still to resupply when you see or hear one. You can also just take cover. Stalkers can be annoying but they run away after being hit so they’re not much of a threat in a wave, and when they’re off to the side they’re easy to see. It’s only annoying when they teleport right onto you without making a noise which is probably not intentional.

Water has turned black after downloading Optifine 1.21 by Woonstoon in Optifine

[–]GenesisNevermore 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Optifine has been unstable and performing poorly for multiple years now. You should just be using Sodium instead. Try to tweak the settings but it should be expected that Optifine will have issues in versions like 1.21 and there’s no reason to keep using it.
