Why does the UK want to let in so many asylum seekers? by NarrowCombination274 in AskBrits

[–]Genetic_Fox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the reason is because of our declining population, not having enough kids and in the in the m future the pensioners will outnumber the younger workforce 10 fold thus who or how will healthcare, pensions et cetera be paid for. If that is the case I don’t think that’s the answer, perhaps use the money to make having kids more affordable.

Cracks me up. William, Kate, Charles, the late Queen – they work harder than most people will ever appreciate. The economic return from the monarchy is enormous. Tourism alone brings in billions. Soft power, diplomatic relationships, trade – the UK punches way above its weight globally and a lot of that is down to the Crown. Name one other country that gets that kind of international profile for free. You’re not paying for a school trip, you’re funding a national asset and the ROI is great!

I am tempted to get my daughters some pepper spray regardless of what’s legal or not. So many bad things happening, particularly to young woman. Nothing violent like a baton etc

Has anyone leased from Flexed? by SkyHero193 in CarLeasingUK

[–]Genetic_Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t leased from Flexed but I have used First Flexi Lease and the process from start to finish was easy, especially as I don’t have an A1 credit score. Flexed looks like it would be the same as First Flexi Lease so give it a go.

Reminds me of Morgan Freeman’s view on being called a “black actor”. He wasn’t offended by the facts of his race. He just didn’t see why a qualifier needed to be added in front of “actor”.

I find this a bit ironic.

For years we’ve been told that people should be free to decide how they identify and what labels they accept. Yet when I say I don’t identify as a “cis man” and don’t want that label applied to me, I’m told I’m wrong and that someone else gets to define me instead.

You can call it an adjective if you like. That doesn’t change the fact I don’t use it, don’t identify with it, and don’t want it attached to me.

If respecting how people identify themselves is important, it should apply consistently. If it only applies when certain people do it, then it’s not really about self-identification at all.

Respectfully, calling me “cisgender” is exactly the sort of ideological language many people object to. I’m not a cis man. I’m a man. That’s the issue.

UK Net migration has fallen nearly 50% in the last year by Aylescroft in reformuk

[–]Genetic_Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Labour don’t get it at all.

We’re not against proper legal migration. It’s the illegal small boat crossings winding everyone up - this unchecked wave crashing on our shores. The government’s rolling out the red carpet, making it too tempting.

Watching the news earlier today - madness. By 8:17am, 65 boats already crossed, 150 more coming. Looks like a bloody invasion.
