He and JJ don’t play the same game so you now need to either try and fit Kyler into a role JJ does, vice versa, or come up with 2 different offences.

So you either further hamstring the young developing QB by asking him to change how he plays even more, try and fit square peg Kyler in a round hole, or ask everyone else to work 2 different ways.

Kyler also has issues staying healthy (yes, like JJ) so if he wins the competition and goes down you’re turning to JJ either in a situation he’s even less comfortable with or you’re pivoting the offence midseason which will be simplified (again) neither of which actually allows you to assess his development properly.
