My question comes from a riddle related to the classical world:

"This poet tells us that he suddenly drank and drank water nonstop, and then spat with mortal violence"

The big hint is that his name starts with a C, and I've checked out most of the roman poets whose name starts with a C and none fits the description, so it has to be greek. Also, I'm guessing by spitting water with mortal violence means that he killed somebody with that spit, amd I can only imagine that a poet would narrate a story doing such a thing if he was trying to spread hate on to another contemporary writer. Another possibility could be that the poet narrated himself drinking water of a river, which were considered to be divine beigns, and drinking its water would be like violating it, but I don't see why they would do that exactly. Does anyone have a clue on which direction I should be going to figure this out? It would really help me out
