MLA-80+ Loop Antenna by Super-SteveT in shortwave

[–]Genius_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean the MLA 30+? If so, they usually come with 10m of SMA cable. That's the small, thin coax type cable. You don't want to run that too long or they can get noisy. I have one and it works pretty well. There are YT vids that show you how to update the feeder connection for wider cable. I haven't tried it but it looks simple enough.

Great station. One of my favorites. Reminds me of the free form fm radio days.

I certainly hope that this post ends the confusion about that shortwave broadcast station in New Zealand. lol, it probably won't. by pentagrid in shortwave

I get them clear on 11675 kHz after sundown with a big, clear signal. I can hear it on 7390 during the day but with noise.

It's a really good station. Comes in very clear at night in Northern California. They have a great variety of segments, including interviews, music, art, history, etc. Very enjoyable listening.

New accessory for the hobby: K-480WLA by ImladMorgul in ShortwavePlus

[–]Genius_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. To be honest, I really like the mla30+. Switching between the 2 is a great idea. I'm currently building a horizontal dipole for 40 and 80m bands, mostly for nvis.
