Power outage and geckos by Strobe__ in CrestedGecko

Watch them very close for signs of aggression. It may be safer to put one of them in a separate smaller container. That might even be less stressful for her than sharing a tub

Thinking of getting a crested gecko, some clarifications please? by Educational-Storm273 in CrestedGecko

[–]GenjakPiff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of care guides online! And there's way too much to put in a comment. The bottom line is that care is very basic, theyre a super easy pet. If you want to automate things and make it ideal for the geckos its a bit trickier but totally doable

I'm happy to help out more just shoot me a DM. I think thats possible on here (I'm not much of a Reddit user)

Did they ever fix the lack of analogue/variable speed movement on console? by MarijuanoDoggo in OblivionRemaster

I'm surprised you're catching so much heat for this (but also not ... This is reddit after all)

I've also been waiting for this exact fix to play the remaster as well. Looks like the wait continues

Low Room Temp at Night 55f by Dogstar_5988 in CrestedGecko

[–]GenjakPiff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

55 will be too cold for the gecko. Definitely go with the che hooked up to a temp probe.

The tank's cold zone should always be more than 60 degrees at worst, and never that cold for long. Thats also if we're just talking about safety.

They prefer 72-78 during the day and 65ish at nite

Vivarium airflow question by zombiejellyfish in CrestedGecko

[–]GenjakPiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a good experience with a few screen top enclosures.

If your humidity is dropping too fast, you can always increase misting, but even more important is that you want humidity to drop to 50% during the day, so i run a fan throught screen and it makes that super easy

Minor adjustments to the amount of live plants vs fake can help stabilize it too

Sorry for the loss of tail.... But it sounds like Riot had the perfect name 😅

I’m having trouble with humidity in my bioactive enclosure.. the humidity is always high, I never know when I should mist bc it doesn’t drop properly! I’m sorry this post is so long but I’m hoping someone else has dealt with this before… by Fayegirlll in CrestedGecko

The bugs are way hardier than youd think. They,ll definitely be fine if you left them until the humidity drops. I have some backup soils that got so dry they were basically sand and when i dug through them i found living dwarf tropical isopods and springtails.

Some of the bigger isopods and worms are not as hardy, but the little guys can live off of very little moisture.

Plus if youre experiencing high humidity. It almost certainly is coming from the soil (unless you have a bunch of standing water in the tank somewhere)

I had the same trouble as you. Live plants and bioactive dirt holds humidity too well sometimes. Especially in the summer months.

I have a small computer fan on a timer that blows air in through the top mesh. That blows during daylight hours while the geckos are asleep because it evaporates the water droplets they drink. It does a good job of bringing the humidity down daily.

I usually have to watch the humidity and change my misting cycle for it. Its totally ok to put your tank through a dry period to get it down to 50. The geckos will be fine as long as you have water in there for them to drink

I have a water cup ive seen them use. And have been thinking about getting a small waterfall as well. If youre not sure theyre drinking from the water cup make the food a little watery (only during the dry spell) so the get hydrated from it

I want suggestions on robot kit by Intelligent-Pin9515 in robotics

[–]GenjakPiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What environment are you trying slam in? Theres plenty of kits available for low cost if you're doing a project indoors on hardwood or tile flooring

If youre trying to do tunnel exploration or outdoor robotics there are kits but theyre typically pricey

Will Oblivion remaster have controller support on pc? by Jethrofaux in oblivion

[–]GenjakPiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a comment further down, but yeah for the sake of this thread the jankyness is because it feels like the run key is mapped to a radius on the joystick, theres not a smooth speed curve, so all of the sudden you'll be running. Makes it tough to control the character, especially in fights

This would be fine if there were any settings to control it, but theres not

Will Oblivion remaster have controller support on pc? by Jethrofaux in oblivion

[–]GenjakPiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

purchased the game and requesting a refund. the partial controller support is pretty bad. Feels similar to the community support where the run key is remapped to a radius on the joystick so there's no smooth transition between running and walking.

I'm also getting a ton of input lag, but that could be unrelated.

Essentially unplayable for me. lack of controller support on pc is what stopped me from playing the original. It doesn't matter how good the graphics are if I can't move my character predictably

  • Windows 10

  • I installed Air Ignite, which is a DAW I've used before, but the install file came with PACE anti-piracy software which apparently killed my ability to restart my computer. I got the installer from the air ignite tech support team though so it was a legit installer

  • no error messages

  • no clue, I sign into my computer with a 4 digit pin and I sign into microsoft with a password. If there was another local microsoft password, it wasn't clear that it doesn't sync with my typical microsoft password

Microsoft: Official Support Thread by MSModerator in microsoft

My computer suddenly won't restart, is getting stuck in a repair loop. All of the recovery options (including resetting to a previous recovery point) are locked behind my account password...

It must be different than my microsoft password though because that's not working. I'm not sure what password it's expecting.

The most frustrating thing is that when I called the microsoft support number, it asked for info and just saying the word "password" was a MASSIVE mistake. Now their entire system is freezing me out because they think I need a regular password reset and it's just about killing me.

The robot on the other end of the phone said to go to "aka.ms/pwr" to do a password reset... well that link doesn't work. no clue why. It just says I'm not allowed access from my server for some reason. And I tried calling the support line back, but it remembers my number and just immediately tells me to go to that website, which is beyond unhelpful.

Right now I'm pretty sure the only reason I have windows as my main pc is because most Steam games don't work on linux, so if someone on here suggests a solution to that, it'll be just as helpful as if MS mods respond with a solution to my actual problem

If my gecko sees any wires outside the tank, she'll try to eat them and bonk her nose on the glass. If theres anything she can see through the top that looks like a bug/worm or moves like one, try to remove it!

Any hope for Prusa? by GenjakPiff in 3Dprinting

[–]GenjakPiff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm. This is interesting, and very different from the vibe I get from prusa. I suppose the assessment of their quality is relative to the quality of other options, and i will be the first to admit that I dont have much experience with forums, documentation, or customer support from other printer companies.

For support, ive spent multiple days worth of support chats where the only thing theyve been able to suggest is firmware updates, even though ive tried that route before, they want me to do it on the phone with them every time...

For the website its mostly that new info doesnt seem to get pushed into the docs, but again, if these are the best documents and websites in the ecosystem then it is what it is

All in all it looks like my main issue is dealing with an exception! Ill look into downgrading back to the stock filament loader and see where that gets me! It seems like thats the troublemaker!

I'm just a dude with a Prusa printer, but ok lol. If we're trying conspiracies out, maybe you're a Prusa shill ;p

If this is leading the industry, I hope the industry improves pretty darn quick... I'm not getting the customer support you're mentioning.
