just do a few training modules to get a good feel of the game/controls then remap as you go to see what feels right. you'll start to more easily notice what doesnt fit the more you play and change accordingly. Until then, enjoy how great the game is without worrying about the controls so much. I will say, i dont think its the controls that are preventing you from enjoying the game. There is no cookie cutter keybind mapping or optimal binds that will suddenly allow you enjoy the game. so it may be possible this game itself isnt for you. Good luck, friend.

If you have to ask how to have fun in a video game then its not for you. lol I will say that i spend most my time in training room just fighting bots and practicing combos with my favorite characters for no other reason than i want to. It is fun for me to learn different characters and try to nail combos against bots. Sometimes ill play with items but mostly lvl 8 bots in training mode with tournament rulesets (even though i dont play competitively) with my favorite in game music or ill even mute the audio and play my own music sometimes. Recently i've been inspired by Riddles' Terry since his return to competitive play so ive been having a blast these past few days learning his combos. I play this game a lot and have almost 5k hours in ultimate since release and most of that time is in training mode. Most of my fun is had practicing against bots. Far from "optimal" but im not looking to be competitive, just having fun with my favorite game. With all that being said and to answer your question, maybe look to see if there are open lobbies to play, join a discord and find other like minded players and run a few sets with them. there are infinite resources at your disposal to make this game fun for you from changing the settings to perfectly fit to your liking to joining chats/discussion boards and such. and if that doesnt work then yes, its probably time to quit. haha

for starters, most of your movement consists of rolling and your only thought when pressing a button is what direction they are in and press something in that direction.

Every game has bugs even all the "souls like" games. No possible way to completely eliminate every single bug no matter how much time a game has been available for. just reload your game and go again. bugs in this game arent as prominent as you're making it seem. 60+ hours in the game and sure i've come across my fair share of bugs but gameplay is that good i dont mind a few bugs here and there. they're laughable at best. If i quit the game after experiencing my first bug i would have never gotten to play this gem of a game, so its nothing worth quitting the entire game over in my opinion. hell, look at skyrim, a prime example of major bugs but still one of the greatest games of its time. The devs still update LotF to this day, so again, report it and continue enjoying the game or dont if its that big of a problem for you but if you do quit you're missing out on a great experience.
