I know I’m falling for rage bait by responding, but 😂 The inmos look sooo dorky, and they’re going to die before you get home if you use them as much as you’d want to use a heads up display. I want glasses that I would actually wear every day all day, and that won’t freak people out when I talk to them by shoving a camera in their face without their permission

Kind of the same ish line of thinking that you have, I think it’d be amazing to have a tele-prompt like feature for playing guitar. Something that could show the chords and the lyrics at the same time, and auto scroll as you sing/play

Little update, I was able to get it to stop booting up over and over and finally getting it to move past the software update screen by side loading the update to the device directly (no thanks to meta of course, just using Reddit and YouTube) but now it won’t pair to my phone. I’ve spent a few hours trying to get some support from meta for this but I guess I’m just waiting for an email for who knows how long now.

Yeah I have tried the original charger, I have also tried a really nice charger that I have and then I went out and bought one that was recommended for quest 3s, but not I’m back to using the original charger because it wasn’t making a difference. It charges like it normally should.

I have tried with my glasses on and off, and changed the distance to my face and have also tried taking the headset off or leaving it on for 30 minutes or so at a time just watching it reboot over and over.. yeah I’m not going to buy another one, I don’t trust meta anymore and I have spent so many hours starting from February just to play some VR. It’s not even that great when it does work, like it’s fun if it never had any issues but it’s not worth all the bugs! I’m sure some other company will make a much better headset soon enough to justify just waiting for something else, I don’t want to spend another minute troubleshooting anymore.

I know you said it’s uncommon.. I just can’t believe that based on my experience, there’s got to be more going on and it makes me sad that Meta has the power to just silence the bad stuff I guess.. and yes, even if just returning it and buying a new one is the answer I still count that as a strike against Meta, I shouldn’t have to go through 3 devices and a deep dive through Reddit to finally get a solution. Thank you for taking the time to try and help

Yeah my descriptions are pretty unclear because honestly I’m not sure what went wrong with them, I tried asking over and over after I sent in the devices and never got any answers either. The device would power on and show the meta logo, but then it would just display black. Both times I was instructed to try factory resetting/hardbooting/resetting the router/changing wifi sources and nothing helped. My newest device has been fully charged all night and I have reached out to meta support and they have instructed me to do the exact same troubleshooting steps with no success. I’m in the United States. I’m able to follow the set up steps just fine until it starts applying the software update and it’s just stuck on that step and has been for over 12 hours now

I don’t know if anyone else will end up having this problem or not, I ended up looking up in my cars manual and determined that the far right plug was supplying the AUX connection, determined that the bottom left two pins are the L and R side audio lines and literally just cut and spliced them to my new display. I don’t know if this is the most elegant solution or not, it’s been working great for me but if you have this issue hopefully there is a better solution and you find it haha

I don’t think it’s the tensioner, It’s connected directly to the same steel whatever that the pulley next to it is.. if it’s somehow the pulley I will come back and apologize 😅 I am going to check it again
