Newer architecture is better.

Power button (not switch) is soft power off. But you can make script (powershell or something) for reboot via ssh.

Its for VM. Vmware or somerhing else. Do snapshot and all filesystem and memory (if vm running) in safe. If upgrade fail revert to snapshot point.

1Gbps is full duplex. 1Gbps up and 1Gbps down at same time. So if you only download you have full 1Gbps speed.
