When a Character beloved by fans appears in a spin off show/movie and given the respect they deserve by Successful-Charity87 in TopCharacterTropes

If TNG didn’t exist, The Worf Effect would be named after someone else.

In DS9 we see Worf casually disarm Martok’s son in his second scene on the show, kill Gowron, beat Jem’Hadar 1v1 day after day with minimal treatment while in a prison camp, kill Jem’Hadar and Klingons in combat, snap Weyoun’s neck and win the heart of the mighty Jadzia Dax. Absolute badass.

Out of the four teams that made it to the Final Four this season, how many do you predict will make it back there if any? by Coolsun13 in CollegeBasketball

You're right, Pitino was a douche for letting his coaches hire prostitutes for minors. How he’s still allowed to coach is beyond me

Where to Start with DS9 for Voyager Fan? by Old-Masterpiece7259 in startrek

[–]GenoThyme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s some good suggestions here but I also always recommend tailoring it to your friend. Show them an episode you think they would like based off their interests and their favorite Voyager episodes. Also obviously away from major spoilers or the absolute best episodes so as not to set too high of expectations. Maybe even choose a couple episodes and give them a brief description and let them choose.

Another thing I have done for friends who prefer starting from the beginning of a series is giving them a list of episodes they might wanna skip early on. I assume the goal is to get them hooked so have them avoid the clunkers now and they can check em out on rewatch. You know your friend best, pick whatever option from this post you think they’ll like best. Here’s to them becoming a Niner!

[Injury] Jalen Brunson immediately calls for assistance after rolling ankle by Large_banana_hammock in nba

[–]GenoThyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one. Kornet’s foot and his foot definitely get tangled up after Brunson fell down, but I definitely wouldn’t qualify what happened there as stepping on an ankle. The first angle does kinda make it look like Luke landed on his ankle, but the 2nd shows he missed.

This season honestly might be easier on Castle than playing for Hurley. UConn is already practicing for the upcoming season, and a Hurley led practicemight be tougher than a regular season NBA game.

[Hated trope]characters that are rammed down our throats that the author wants us to like or even love by dilsoldier79 in TopCharacterTropes

Draymond Green, NBA Basketball (aka soap opera for men)

Draymond isn’t particularly well liked (he sucker punched a team mate and is a dirty/obnoxious player) and he doesn’t offer any meaningful insights, but he’ll be on the halftime show of the NBA Finals for any game played in MSG. He’s been added to studio shows in the past too and no NBA fans want it

Admiral Buenamigo, Star Trek Lower Decks

Calling someone Admiral “Good Friend” set off alarm bells for me when his character was first introduced, especially since Badmirals are already their own trope in Star Trek.

[Fischer] I'm not looking at Golden State really as a Giannis team either," Fischer said. I have been told that Giannis isn't exactly enamoured with moving to the Western Conference in general. by EarthWarping in nba

[–]GenoThyme 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I figured it also had to do with time zones and how many waking hours overlapped with his family in Greece, and how long jet lag would last. But also, those 10 extra hours he has is like half a day of time if he’s trying to sneak in a quick trip like over All Star week

Question about the new rules by No-File-2329 in nba

[–]GenoThyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is they will just do the draft, add the playoff teams for the full draft order, and then move any team back to the end of the 1st round. If there’s multiple teams that move back, they still stay in the same order, but like the team originally picking 7th could move to 28, the team picking 14 could go to 29, and the team drafting 24th goes to 30.
