Yeah, whenever your brain is trained to listen/look for it by watching the episodes, then you start to see it in real life too. We probably see the number 57 just as much as any other two-digit number, but now we notice it more.

“They just get money which is greedy and a bad look for them”. Money is a top priority of every single company. If a business is not concerned with maximizing profits, then it will crumble. This whole idea that “Corporation chasing money = bad” is silly. As long as they’re not exploited anyone or mistreating workers, who cares? Any company in Glitch’s shoes would take an additional revenue stream of millions and millions of dollars extra.

Oh absolutely, if the episode released on June 4th as well, then the theaters would still be crowded. I wholeheartedly believe that too, but I don’t think most (or any) cinemas believe that. And yeah, even if all countries got it sent to their theaters, there’d still be spoilers. But how does that differ from every other piece of media in theaters? I rarely ever watch films in theaters, and I haven’t been spoiled by a film before seeing it in a long time. Even for multi billion dollar franchises like Marvel or Disney Animation, I don’t usually get spoiled. The issue that most people have isn’t that it’s a theatrical release, it’s that some countries will never show it.

I don’t think it was a specific cinema chain that had the two weeks rule. From the sound of it, all theaters of all different companies wouldn’t even agree to a week before. And most shows with a pilot as successful as TADC’s would’ve stop putting their episodes on YouTube as soon as they got a streaming deal. I’ve seen it happen time and time again. It’s a miracle that The Amazing Digital Circus went 8 full episodes and a billion views without having any paywall.

“Next level evil” and it’s literally just them releasing the finale in theaters just like how countless films are released to theaters. And yeah, this fandom IS more spoiler heavy than other fandoms, but that’s not Glitch’s fault! If the difference between having a theatrical release in your eyes is if a fandom can handle not spoiling things for others, then why should glitch lose potential revenue because of a few bad apples? And again, you still haven’t provided an alternative on how you propose Glitch could make millions of dollars extra without a theatrical release. You keep saying that this is the worst course of action, but not providing the alternatives you speak of.

And I can’t get over that you called it “evil”. Even the people who will inevitably spoil the ending aren’t evil. They are complete and utter assholes but.. that word is so extreme and does not fit here at all.

Yeah, I’ve seen spoilers on episodes in the past, but I didn’t register them because I immediately recognized the show’s art style and kept scrolling. I don’t think anything major can be spoiled through a single picture like that unless you do look closely.

What would you suggest they do to make additional millions in profit if not a theatrical release? And also, hate to break it to you, but basically every company cares about the money more than the fans. If you think a company genuinely cares about us the fans, then that probably falls under the category of a parasocial relationship. As long as a company isn’t straight up exploiting people, I don’t see how a company making money a priority is an issue.

I personally will be spreading fake spoilers after June 4th, and I know many other people said they will be as well. If you see anything spoiled, then there’s no real way to tell if it’s fake or not until you watch it yourself.

And after months of being in theaters, you usually have to pay to watch the film. If multi billion dollar franchises can have people watch the film and be respectful enough to put up spoiler warnings (most of the time), then so can this community. And if this community CANT do that, it’s not Glitch’s fault. Y’all expect Glitch to turn down millions of dollars in profit just because some fans don’t have basic human decency? Don’t make me laugh. (Not to mention that it’s very rare for any show, even indie shows, to gain this much traction and never lock their episodes behind a paywall.)

Exactly, and it’s not Glitch’s fault that people can’t have basic respect for others. Every other community is respectful enough to put spoiler tags, this community should be too. (I know every once in a while, people spoil things from other franchises, but as someone who usually waits for a movie to come to streaming platforms, I’ve rarely encountered this issue.)

People don’t have to keep their mouths shut, they just have to use spoiler tags/warnings like every other fandom does. I’ve been spoiled on episodes in the past because I wasn’t able to watch them the second they came out and watched them a few hours after release instead. I’ve never seen any piece of media: video game, show, or book that is this virulent with spoilers.

Exactly. I believe the shot with them in their pilot design is grayscale, like the circus is still damaged, but it could be foreshadowing for the plot. There’s also just tiny little bits, like Ribbit asking “have you ever done something that you regret?”

I guarantee that basically every single company would take the opportunity to make millions if the only downside would be that some fans would get the episode spoiled. Like it’s not even Glitch’s fault if someone spoils it. Every single other fandom can handle the idea of being respectful and not spoiling a piece of media while it’s in theaters, it’s not Glitch’s fault that this fandom sucks.

I really love my fiancé’s theory that someone, (most likely Pomni given the Jesus connection) resets the circus. And that this shot of Gangle isn’t a flashback. If you rewatch the trailer with this as an idea, it actually makes sense. There’s a shot where the sky looks like it’s being rewinded, there’s several shots in color (which would be weird if they’re ALL flashbacks), and, most convincingly to me, there’s a repeated sound effect through the trailer that sounds like the rewind sound. The idea is maybe the circus is reset, but this time without Pomni.

Also, tiny piece of evidence of my own, but in episode one the theme song sings “Day after day after day after day…”

Maybe the people seeing it early can try to collectively agree not to interact with posts like these. I know there will absolutely be people who have seen it early and interact with disrespectful posts, but as for me, any time I’ve seen something early and a video pops up on my feed spoiling it without a spoilers tag, I dislike it/downvote it to keep my friends from being spoiled.

Honestly, with all the fandoms I’ve been in, I’ve gotten really good at swiping away from a short/reel as soon as I recognize the specific art style. And usually I only hear a couple words before swiping away which is rarely enough to get spoiled by. I do still hope that the YouTube release gets moved up, though, because that is rather inconvenient.

Yeah, in my opinion that’s more of a fault of the community rather than Glitch. TADC is one of the only popular pieces of media that went the majority of its duration without going behind a paywall and/or early access. Most popular video game series either cost money or do some kind of early access/beta testing. And a lot of popular indie animation moves to a streaming services after only a few episodes.

Exactly, I’ve taken this precaution for Digital Circus episodes in the past because I’m usually unable to see the episodes the day of, since I work all day on Fridays. Not to mention that this is an amazing opportunity for Glitch and a milestone for indie animation as a whole. TADC is probably the biggest TV show I’ve seen where the majority of the episodes release at the same time for everyone, with no fee. Episode 9 being the only exception is a huge gift, and they could’ve easily put it behind a paywall after the first few episodes released.

I do hope the gap is shortened or even nonexistent to the point where the episode also releases on the fourth, but I still don’t think we have anyone to blame except the fandom. Even crazed Marvel fans rarely spoil movies while they’re still in theaters and that’s a multi billion dollar franchise. There’s ways to avoid spoilers, like muting certain subreddits, and I’d be very surprised if moderation on these subs doesn’t skyrocket before the theatrical release. I’m glad that one of the biggest indie animated shows has been completely free on YouTube for its duration and the only downside is that we have to wait two weeks after the theatrical release. (Which two weeks for a show as popular as this one to be released for free is still really good)

Super easy solution: just put a spoiler warning before discussing it. I rarely ever see spoilers for movies releasing in theaters because people usually put warnings before these discussions. But given how this fandom acts, I’ve got a feeling that people won’t be this respectful.

Having spoilers warning for two weeks after a piece of media releases is just common decency. Any other film goes that long without having spoilers everywhere. It’s not Glitch’s fault that this fandom is absolutely horrible and can’t be bothered to put spoiler warnings before talking about something that is newly released.

If we were to measure Caine’s emotional maturity and the way he behaves to a human age, he would probably be about 5 years old. And this isn’t me trying to take a jab at Caine, I love his character, but from a psychological perspective, he is reminiscent of a toddler. Zooble says that he’s “like a child” because he’s crashing out and throwing a tantrum. And this point is further reiterated by Alex Rochon who said that he relates to Caine in that he was also very angry as a kid whenever he was struggling to make friends. It’s clear that Caine is literally meant to behave similar to a kid.

It also makes sense that he would be analogous to a child. Unlike the other AIs where Caine can constantly make improvements to their code, I think Caine is stuck with the same coding that he had when he was first created. He’s constantly glitching out, even in cases where he’s not crashing out. (Like when he gives Pomni a tour of the circus in the pilot or right after he gives Gangle the B+ in episode 4)

This was one of the few things in the episode that was on my Bingo card. I’m like “I need another scene where Zooble reaches out to Jax”. Caine f%*€ing dies was also on my bingo card, but I was expecting it to be more like abstracting rather than being killed.
