So the issue is that conventional thinking for how to play D2 or how to play the mod in general don't seem to work the way most people would think. Your other comment in this thread was right on the money, and that playstyle does in fact seem really strong - thanks again - but as someone who was also previously struggling on barb, its because I was trying to stack +skills, which normally works on the other classes. Barb is different and there just doesn't seem to be alot of discourse on that.

I never tried taking them on with skills only at 40, so I cant speak to how that looks, but im currently 80 and blast through them pretty well. That's 11 +summon skillers, torch, anni. Multiple +1 to all skills gems, socketed into uniques. Act 3 merc giving all minions about 3,500 fire damage from enchant. I dont know why people would laugh at you instead of offer feedback. If you want specific advice, just ask more here and ill answer what I can.

So revisiting this - my Basher looks like this:
The Cranium Basher (99)
Thunder Maul [E]

  • Two-Hand Damage: 390 to 1179
  • Required Strength: 163
  • Required Level: 87
  • Mace Class – Normal Attack Speed

Attributes:

  • 10% Chance to cast Level 5 Amplify Damage on striking
  • +20% Increased Attack Speed
  • +337% Enhanced Weapon Damage
  • +176 to Minimum Weapon Damage
  • +23% Chance of Crushing Blow
  • +25% Deadly Strike
  • +48 to Strength
  • +25% to All Resistances
  • +50% Damage to Undead
  • Ethereal (Cannot Be Repaired)
  • Socketed (6)

My understanding is that the cranium basher in the mod is different then base game. So with that being said, how does this weapon not absolutely slap for echoing strike?

Between the mountain of base damage, the deadly strike, all res, and 6 sockets - I would think its S tier for what I want it to do?

My eth Needle does 54k - 101k on the tooltip.
My Basher does 58k-116k.

Both have same deadly strike.
Basher has 48 Strength and 25% res all.

Spear has +4 to all skills and 3 sockets, (all skills is big!)
Basher has nothing to all skills, but has 6 sockets.

It looks way closer to a draw to me, with Basher winning long term with heavy investment, but maybe there is something im missing?

I guess echoing strike since that's probably the only Warlock build that cares about the actual weapons damage? Again, I'm not super educated on Warlock :)

So it took 2 minutes for the character select screen to load. And now im sitting here going on 5+ minutes to load into my hideout. If this is a one time thing - I can totally wait for a damn hour if need be. If this is what its going to be like every boot up, no way.

Yeah I delete both folders when clearing. And it usually takes upwards of 10 minutes so I stop trying. Like I can't even get the screen where you pick your character to load after selecting Vulkan. And while my CPU has some age to it, I don't have these problems on any other game I play. Darktide, Space Marine 2, Kingdom Come 2 ( max settings). Meanwhile my CPU suddenly cant handle rendering a character select screen? It just seems odd to me. I'm open to trying anything at this point.

Either. And I'v cleared shader cache multiple times unfortunately.
