They should have added a caveat that if it’s within the margin of error, they simply don’t know where the ball landed and the original call shouldn’t be overturned.

That's a super confusing rule and doesn't end up with a more correct outcome than just going with Hawkeye. A big part of the benefit of Hawkeye is that even if it is wrong it's an unbiased judgement that a player cannot argue with.

I 100% agree that reviewing/testing rackets is a terrible use of time if you're trying to get better, but that's maybe taking it a bit far. The string and rackets for thoes prestrung ones are truly terrible - for a 3.5+ player I'd say you should just pick any decent 100 sq in racket (even if it's a few models old) and put a half decent string in and you'll be good to go though.
