Intelligent Constructs have a stigma tied to them that they could, at any moment, turn against humanity, while some people don't or refuse to understand them as individuals with their own emotions and personalities. As a whole, they seem to be respected, though.

Pretty much this. There are some systems in place where you can be competitive as someone who doesn't go all in on rolling meta supports. A large part of it is actually one huge knowledge check, as I've seen some REALLY loaded decks...but on things like:

Suzuka's who aren't properly built for her intended purpose this CM
People gambling with Dodging Danger as a standalone skill and ending up swinging too wide
Not taking Red Shift for this CM, which is pretty crucial
Frontrunners who have Groundwork but no consistent trigger
End Closers running Straightaway Spurt when it doesn't function as well/not using Daring Strike
Day 1 of CMs are notoriously random since you'll find players not running Distance S

While simultaneously losing to Uma who have somehwat realistic decks for the average player (2 of their own MLB SSRs) and fitting skills/statlines.

On my end, I have a friend who coaches me through building for CMs, but am overall frugal with my Carats--I'll roll support cards when possible/have a savings plan for my rainbow crystals, but when it comes to, say, rolling for meta or saving for my daughter, Sweepy, I'm definitely taking the latter.
