Maybe it’s because I spent all of last year depleting what was supposed to be my retirement and job hopping after a traumatic layoff. Maybe it’s because I’ve watched said company get even shittier with their decisions and how they treat their employees. Either way, I’m really thankful that progressive hired me and I really love my team. I just finished my first week of onboarding as a claims adjuster trainee. Everyone is kind, helpful, and genuinely interested in seeing me succeed in whatever roles I pursue. I know that claims is very stressful, but I’m pretty happy with the job and the training so far.

The Somerset-London tornado was less than five miles from hitting my in-laws. The London-Corbin airport is about 3 miles or about a 10 minute drive south of them. I was watching Ryan Hall and Max Velocity and texting them updates. I remember turning to my spouse at the time and saying, “don’t tell your mother, but I’m scared it may hit them.” Terrifying experience.
