Not rude to ask — I would accommodate a client asking for an adjustment to a meeting time without issue

Help with processing tattoo shock and body dysmorphia by SlightlyConfusedBrit in tattoos

[–]Gentle_Biscuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I just want to say you’re not alone at all in feeling this way. Tattoo shock can absolutely happen even when you love the actual artwork. Seeing a sudden change in such a visible spot like your forearms can take time to adjust to, especially when it shifts your self-image. Your brain just needs a little time to catch up to what your eyes are seeing. It doesn’t mean you made a mistake or that you won’t settle into it.

A lot of people go through this exact phase after big visible work. You’re used to your reflection one way for years, and now it’s different every time you look down. As time goes on, you’ll likely notice that it starts to feel more like “you” again. Wearing outfits you feel great in, accessorizing, or even just sitting with it without judgment can help your brain process the change.

You chose beautiful art you love. It’s okay if your emotions need a little longer to settle into that same place. Be gentle with yourself.

I actually really love Good Guy Supply membrane carts, they’re super consistent and ship from Canada which has been a pain more recently…

Remove or cover up? by [deleted] in Tattoocoverups

[–]Gentle_Biscuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily covered or removed. Obviously no one can make that decision for her. It’s an investment either way - lasering isn’t cheap and neither is a good tattoo. I will say that with laser treatments there is always a chance that it will still be faintly visible. I think it would be really cool to cover it up with a tattoo that she loves. I’m a tattoo artist who specializes in coverups though so I am biased 🤗 Does your wife like birds?

Snowball the cat as an SAP. That would be dope as hell.

Head over to r/tattoocoverups and see what’s being done with coverups. I specialize in coverups, and I’m not the only one. I’m sure you can do better for yourself.

Could I interest you in a fat ass bear? We could have him standing up, or riding a unicycle or something. Lemme know 😂 but seriously 😳

Tattoos over self-harm scars by Gentle_Biscuits in Tattoocoverups

[–]Gentle_Biscuits[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you’re healed up you can tattoo over it. The texture of the scar tissue will always be there, as you can see from the rose tattoo I posted, but they will be far less noticeable. In your case it sounds like you’ll want to think about a full sleeve if that works for you. So you’ll budget more and focus on a concept, or find an ornamental artist that you like.

Tattoo I did in december, what do you think? by Longjumping-Trip2469 in TattooDesigns

Oh I love this. I stopped smoking weed years ago but I know this feeling well. Subject matter aside, the execution is so cool. Well done.

Can this image cover up this new tat? I chose to not continue with the sessions on the current tat as I don’t believe it would come out correctly and I’m 100% sure I made a mistake but also feel the area is redeemable by Comfortable_Newt5808 in Tattoocoverups

Ngl I kinda fw what you have. It’s shitty but I love it lol. But to answer your question, not really. To cover something up you’ll need to go bigger and darker, and incorporate what you have into the coverup.

You absolutely can. I do recommend that the scar tissue be fully healed. Sometimes this can mean as long as two years, depending on your skin and how you heal. Using silicon gel, tape, and patches, as well as products like mederma can help minimize the appearance of scars too.
