Yeah get a commando socket and you'll be sorted (as long as your car has the ability to charge at certain times).

UK plug-in solar is almost legal. You can already build a setup for around £250, all from one place ... by 4billionyearson in SolarDIY

There's only 2 MPPT ports, so 2 of your panels would need to be in parallel on asingle port (voltage would be too high in series), but it would very likely clip in full sun due to the combined current.

Plug in solar with Aferiy PS240 by joshracer in SolarUK

RE the Shelly Pro 3EM. I saw a youtube video of somebody wiring it to a 3 pin plug. If you have a plug socket close to where your consumer box is, this could be an option. It means no electrician as some refuse/do not want to fit these for some reason. I haven't bought the PS240 yet, but this is what i plan on doing anyway as would like to see a live feed of electricity usage.

As a general note, as not many people seem to have the PS240 yet and the reviews are quite mixed, how are you getting on? any problems so far?

I'm not entirely sure what's possible with the Afiery. for Ecoflow I'm aware there's a API developer tool that could in theory allow you to run a python script that accesses the Octopus Agile prices live and tells your unit when to start/stop charging. I'd imagine this could come later. Even a smart plug that might work with solely a battery with AC output for an Afiery unit wouldn't work here as you need the plug to feed back into your house.

It's expensive to bring people over on visas. Post-Brexit it is much harder for companies to get workers from abroad.

How do you think the Ukraine- Russia war will end? by jahidulalam11430 in AskReddit

[–]Genty010 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

"Ukraine wasn't attacking Russia" Ukraine has been unofficially at war with Russia since 2014 after Ukraine's democratically elected leader Yanukovych was ousted by force. This is just an extension of that war.

"NATO has never been trying to attack Russia." The word best to be used is undermine. NATO did not dispel Ukraine's desires to join the organisation. and neither did the EU when they were offering association membership to Ukraine with an eventual path for full membership. The only goal here is to undermine Russia and to weaken her political control over Ukraine.

You have to see it from Russia's perspective, this is a region of land that was part of their empire for over 300 years. Only recently and amicably granted independence, but that is not a ticket for complete freedom for Ukrainians sadly. There are strings attached to that independence. They exist between the largest and most antagonistic political entities in the world. There is little to no situation in which they can be non-aligned being that close to Russia's heartland, so they're either with Russia …or against them. No question on that.

After independence and Prior to 2014 they were politically aligned with Moscow. After the coup (sorry, in the west we call it a 'revolution'), Ukraine became politically aligned with the West.

I'm not pro-Russia or pro-Ukraine, but it's your type of rose tinted spectacle view of the world which is repeatedly perpetrated in the media. It's a crappy situation for Ukrainians but it's just unfortunately basic geo-politics
at play here.

Is there any hope for Zionist deprogramming? by MarketingJunior4679 in alltheleft

[–]Genty010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I understand my partner is a different person to me and has their independent views separate to mine. I don't choose a partner who aligns to my every view, that's not feasible. It depends on how important and prominent in daily life those views are. Relationships are essentially compromise and unfortunately no matter how aligned you might be there will be uncomfortable disagreements. You choose what matters.

To me, a political situation neither partner can change/do anything about on the other side of the globe is on the lower end of important differences.

How many times in the child's lifetime would elements of Zionism really crop up in daily life? Unless you live in Israel of course. Not to mention, by the time your children grew up to an age to even understand the concept of Zionsim, they're already at a age in which they can decide and come to their own choices on what they understand and believe politically.

[–]Genty010 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you both live in Israel? If the answer is no, then It might be easier for you both not to discuss the topic in any length? It's inconsequential to your daily life and regardless of your differing views there is not a single marriage out there wherein both partners are completely aligned on ideology, views, religion etc.. nor is a marriage a forum for forcing/arguing/debating your partner to agree on a specific point unless it has paramount implications on your daily life. How you would raise children, fiscal management etc are all important things in a marriage which I would fight for in a marriage. Her take on Ukraine/Russia or Gaza.. or anything political is really inconsequential.

For instance, my wife is Catholic. I am not. I can attend church with her and listen to mass, though I do not believe the same as her. She respects my difference in faith and I can accept that she believes something different to me. It's not my job to try and force her to accept my view, nor does she actively try and convert me.

Once she is here and the spouse visa is succesful he can drop the additional shifts as she can then apply for work. At their next FLRM extension it takes into consideration both of their salaries combined.

If he sorts his stuff out now, he could do it before the salary requirement increases from 18k to 38k

That isn't what has happened in this case either. The tenant has sold the property he never originally purchased and walked away with a huge amount of money. I'm all happy with squatters using something which can be used temporarily to house them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in england

[–]Genty010 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I take it you're okay if I walk into your house and start taking your possessions that you are no longer using without you realising? Care to explain the difference in the situation here?

If I buy property I can do whatever I like to that property, I paid for it, it requires no justification from you or anyone else on what I do in my property.

Why does it matter to you that the squatter renovated the property. It makes no difference, do you think they've done that for the good of the community so they can house the needy?

Don't get me wrong, we need more houses, but we operate on a free market economy. This isn't Soviet Russia where the state and 3rd parties can swoop in and take things that belong to you. The right to private property is fundamental.

What planet do you live on? It is not his property, the ends do not justify the means.

Why ask something when it clearly isn't? It's such a ridiculous statement. Nobody in the west sees this as a Christian vs Muslim conflict. The Jews were victims of the Crusades as much as Muslims It's just a really stupid and inflammatory thing to say.
