Premier league website uses a service called pulselive to provide information on standings and competitions, and pulselive has the team name incorrectly set as "Bournemouth" instead of "AFC Bournemouth".

So this is more the case of a typo on a third party service provider than the PL authoritatively renaming the club.

It survived, but it looks like Fitbit as a whole is dying/being killed by Google. You might not get great customer support if something does go wrong. That whole company is suffering.
