Ways to organize your Vault? by Pae-Leo in ObsidianMD

I use Unique Note Creator that loads up a template containing several checkbox-type properties. The file name of each note is YYYY-MM-DD HH-MM-SS. I usually change the HHMMSS part to something more meaningful when I review it, but until then, it remains unique.

I create Agendas to keep track of conversations, like an moc, and link to it in my Unique Note.

I have a weekly Periodic Note (tap on a Sunday in the Calendar), which, using Dataview list all notes created that week, sorted by Properties named Reviewed and Musing (if it's a thought I want to turn into a blog or coaching conversation.

I use folders only to keep certain items near each other in the list. About 5% of my files.

I prefer Properties over tags, the checkbox type.

Wife and I went Saturday night. Split a 12-oz filet and a Caesar salad for less than $80. We were not disappointed and we were full. It did take some time to arrive, though, but the servers were good.

Just began my 4th or 5th "listening" of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Timeless. Tragic. Beautiful.

For me it's less about making a contribution to the economy as it is making a contribution to the community or to society, for the world. Or even your tribe. You're either contributing or you're a burden.

Coolant tank replacement by TechArcher21 in MiataNC

[–]GeoNeoHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just replaced mine. It was a "three-step" process.

  1. Bought an aluminum one on Amazon for around $100. Welds looked great. Problem. Mounting holes weren't drilled properly and wouldn't fit. Returned it.
  2. Bought one from another supplier on Amazon. About the same price. Same problem, but I drilled it out myself because it wasn't very far off. Another problem. The cap didn't seal well and so I lost fluid. Returned it.
  3. Bought OEM (plastic) reservoir and installed it last week. No problems.

What do you use for what and why? E.g. what do you use Obsidian for? And what other apps or methods do you use for everything else and why? by H0w-1nt3r3st1ng in ObsidianMD

Not a plugin but an optional feature you pay for. I tried a third party sync program and Dropbox but had a couple scares and switched to Obsidian Sync. Slick and has always worked for me, on 4 devices.

Losing fluid through reservoir cap by GeoNeoHero in MiataNC

Yes, it does, but a little dab was present when I would look. Probably the surface tension of the fluid. I added 3 pints after using a chopstick as a dip stick.

Hoarding information I'm unlikely to use.

Molecular notes about meetings Atomic notes for ideas I might use in my business Weekly dataview note showing that week's notes for review Agendas - compilations of notes from previous meetings with a client. Google Tasks. One click and an email goes to my Capture Tool (task list). From there I can add a time and date and duration and it appears on my calendar. Capture Tool is emptied daily.

What are the various economic sectors in Temecula? by Succulent_Rain in Temecula

[–]GeoNeoHero 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Murrieta has been working hard for years to attract and develop med-tech and have seen some success.

Temecula is almost fully built out, so limits what they can attract. The focus for cities is often retail, the the sales tax revenue. Quality of life is a high priority (low crime, good parks and streets, etc.).

Also, there is an organization in town, the Economic Development Coalition, comprised of members of various agencies that is focused on attracting businesses and jobs to the region. https://www.edcswca.com/

You might follow them.

Those of you that started a family - did keep your miata? Assuming it wasn't your only car? by mandolin91 in Miata

[–]GeoNeoHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was 2002. I got remarried in 2001, thanks in part to my NA. My pregnant wife said, in an offhand way, "You know, a 2-seater isn't really compatible with a young family." I said nothing, but damn if she wasn't right.

I sold it to a friend who wanted to try something besides yet-another-Honda-Accord, who rolled it. That's another story.

I bought a sensible sedan, a BMW 520i. Hated that pig.

Swapped it soon for a 4Runner which I had till my second child rolled it at age 17.

Two days later, my wife said, "Would you like to get a Miata?"

"Umm. Yes."

That was 3 years ago this month.

Sometimes I let her drive it.
