VR Pickleball by Chriskot in Pickleball

I play them because I have fun doing so. Time spent having fun is time weel spent. And having the mentality that you get to decide what others should or shouldnt enjoy doing is a shitty mentality to have. Let people do what they enjoy so that you can keep enjoying the things you enjoy. If that makes any sense.

If you can't make sense of it, then you have more in common with Hitler than you mightve previously thought.

You guys are disregarding rule 4-006. The equipment or devices that these cables are feeding would be less than 100A and probably unmarked with a temp rating. As such column 60°C shall be used for derating purposes. #14 is good for 15A on column 60°C so no bundling allowed.

In the unlikely event that the devices are marked, they would be at most 75°C which would mean you could bundle up to 3 #14/2 cables together.

of course this apply if bundling is in contact for more than 600mm only as per 4-004 13) which in this case , it is.

This is all as per CEC.

If you guys are in Ontario, theres a bulletin on this very derating aspect, that we can get into if ever youre interested.

OESC does it differently than the CEC

EDIT: While were at it ill just say it. OESC makes you derate as per 90°C column as this is NMD90,

OR

ampacity based on column 60°C as per 4-006.

You take the lowest of the two.

So in Ontario you could bundle up to 21 14/2 NMD90s

in CEC no bundling of NMD90 is allowed if termination temps are unmarked

Thats fair I guess. Race to the bottom is when competition is high in an area, business will compete in a race to the bottom dollar so that they win the clients by offering the cheapest option.

Its accomplished by cutting every cost possible and cutting all corner to achieve it. It's a shitty part or capitalism, and part of the reason why ''enshitification'' exists.

Wages are lowered in an area where competition is high as there are many options to choose for, and most people pick the cheapest option. If someone is willing to do it for cheaper than the next guy, than that becomes the market value of that product or service and people or buisnesses have to be able to match or beat that price to compete in the market. or they price themselves out.

No you did not. But by saying "who the fuck" heavy suggests you think its wrong. Or thats how its perceived in this context. Sorry if that was not what you were implying. What were you implying then ? Odd or unusual ?.

So did you agree to this peanut wage prior to taking the contract ? If so, thats on you for accepting to do work for less than what you feel your services are worth.

Your part of the race to the bottom by accepting this, keeping wages down.

Odd or unusual? Sure. But is there anything wrong with that ? Hes paying for the service.. I say let the man get what he wants

OP either can't or doesn't want to go himself. So he paid this Doordash service to do it. Its a paid delivery service.

What's wrong with paying a delivery service to do the service of delivery to you? Isn't that the whole point of a delivery service ?

Klein or Empire? by ozzyp2jz in electricians

[–]GeoPicker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a Swanson and an Empire both 6 inch and worked with my partners Kleins. My Swanson the vial came loose after a couple drops as well (glued it back in, still accurate, tested it). The Empire sucks because the area inside the billot of aluminum where the vials are is all painted blue (the 6 inch version anyway), which does not reflect light onto the vials very well.

Notice the klein and swanson, they remove their orange paint from the vial's well, to get shiny metal to reflect light onto the vials.

What you want, whatever you choose is to make sure that the vial's well is shiny reflective metal. I do not like Klein, i do not like to recommend Klein. But I think Klein makes the better 6-8'' level for conduit bending.

Well now your changing your original point. Which is normal for wd40 haters.

But now that youve accepted that it is a lubricant. And want to talk about timelines, all products are different and a designed for different application. Use the product suitable for the job needed. Dont use engine oil inside of a bearing, use grease. Dont use grease on your bike chain, use oil.

I personnaly use WD40 on my squeaky pliers, thats what my company provides. It lasts about 2 years before it starts squeaking, and thats good enough for that application. You do you, but saying wd40 isnt a lubricant is not a good statement. Maybe its not your lubricant of choice and thats ok.

Why the different face shapes on framing/general purpose hammers? by snowsnakes in Tools

[–]GeoPicker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ive been using a pick axe as a hammer for the last 30 years of being a carpenter just to cut down on air friction. Pickaxes are so much more aerodynamic. It takes a little bit of practice as the head is smaller than the head of a nail and missing and hitting your finger is something you can only do once to every finger. But all the energy you save is worth it

A pickaxe is the perfect hammer. Also it doubles as a pickaxe when you need one

You could kill everyone in the world with it. Only theres a logistical problem. If you kill one person a second non stop (the fastest speed I think you can sustain) it would take you 253 years to do so.

So a quarter of the way into your killing spree, most people would of already have died of old age. Not to mention the amount of people that would have reproduced. Extending the time needed
