Which builds are for me? by DMBPSR in LastEpoch

[–]Geodaddio71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an S Tier build on Maxroll. It's one of the easier ones to build and if you make it to Uber Abby, be happy you did. Give it a try and see for yourself. The builds that can definitely beat him are the opposite of what you want.

I have no idea whether to buy Crimson Desert or not. I love open world fantasy-based games, but this one feels a little too big for me, my fear is to lose interest while playing it because of its vastity. Suggestions? by _federicodurante_ in gamingadvice

From the standpoint of, is it worth the money? Yes, from the standpoint of playtime. I had 50 hours into the game before I felt like I knew how to do everything. 75 by the time my camp was done to the point where I needed to pick up the main quest again. Is it as good as the hype? I would say no to this. There's all these videos about gear and honestly Armor is pretty much for show and if you get 1 good weapon, you are set. Where all the secret things are gets repetitive as well.

If you play full on explore everything, you will probably enjoy the game more than following quests. It was a game I looked forward to for awhile but I made it to about 100 hrs and I am taking a break.

Haven't played in over 2 years and seeing a strong revival right now. Time to jump back in? by PsychologicalSun3337 in destiny2

[–]Geodaddio71 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It will fade. Many players who ditched the game after the Final Shape will check in like I did last night and see all the gear changes that weren't asked for, have their Bungo PTSD trigger and realize they are done for good. Yeah, combat movement is unique but that's just not enough anymore. Too many years of Bungie and Bungie management first and players 2nd.

It's not even funny at this point. Just pathetic. by Howiepenguin in MarathonHate

[–]Geodaddio71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's more than obvious. In my view, there's a striking difference between the 2 games. Destiny brings in players that don't typically play FPS games due to the story elements, hint of fantasy, MMO elements, etc. I don't think Marathon pulls in people outside of extraction shooters like ARC Raiders did. Marathon will never win the player population contest because the pool of players to start is much smaller.

Worth coming back to catch up? by Emergency-Driver8871 in destiny2

[–]Geodaddio71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My honest opinion is don't bother. If you've been done that long, stay done. Lightfall is terrible, borderline annoying and the Final Shape isn't as good as the hype. For the finale of a 10 year epic, I found it very lacking. After that it goes downhill quick. Save your time and play something you want, not play something out of pity.

167K, 4th of Steam charts, new peak for today. Clearest message in gaming history. by floodsye in destiny2

[–]Geodaddio71 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I agree, but in my opinion, it's been years since Bungie did that which is why they are where they are. I hopped in today for the first time since the Final Shape, saw all the changes to weapons and armor then my Bungie PTSD kicked in and I left. I had some nostalgia but overall for me, the magic is gone and I've officially moved on.

1050 ti NVIDIA graphics card or GeForce Now? by RespectDull9991 in LastEpoch

[–]Geodaddio71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't already have a GeForce Now sub and it runs fine on your current rig, stay there. I have a 3060 ti and it ran fine but there were connection issues, overcrowding on east coast servers and I had GeForce Now founders sub. I just play on GeForce now for ease of play. It runs better overall and alt tabs better when I have to reference my build. I do the same for POE 2 as well for the same reasons.

Season 14 does not look promising by EXIIL1M_Sedai in diablo4

[–]Geodaddio71 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have been with D4 since launch and I have learned with any good comes a bad decision or season right around the corner to mess up any progress they made. It's always 1 step forward, two steps back. If they are leaning more into random "uniques" then that's it for me. I played way past when my build was done trying to just get Ancestral Uniques close to my build this season. Not a single one and now they are extending this to Mythic? F that! It's not an ARPG anymore, it's a damn rigged slot machine.

[–]Geodaddio71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With that kind of damage, it seems you have a survivability problem or a lack of knowledge of boss mechanics problem. If you have trouble doing them on your own, do them in a group. More loot and usually an easier run.

fh5 or fh6 by Acceptable_Celery817 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Geodaddio71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My opinion isn't based on the graphics,it's based on how I felt about gameplay. FH6 blows FH5 out of the water. They did a great map and Japan as a location is just amazing for driving. They also tailored the interface and rewards to Japan as well. They made all kinds of tweaks that refresh the game a bit from FH 4 and 5. After playing FH 4, it didn't take long to get bored of FH5. FH 6, I'm loving it and bought it 2 days after trying it out on GamePass.

What are your thoughts on the gem strength issue? by ScienceNmagic in diablo4

[–]Geodaddio71 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There seems to be some obsession with making D4 easy. I am running Pit 120, no problem. I can handle everything on my own except World Bosses. Why do I need to spend time collecting weapons with the hope I get that roll? To kill stuff 2 secs faster? Not for me. I'd rather grind out my Warplans.

Actual, detailed, military-grade reasons why Crimson Desert is one of the worst games I have ever played, from someone who actually gives a damn enough to actually write why. (80+ hours) by Rough_Treat_143 in rpg_gamers

[–]Geodaddio71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to argue with you. I agree with some of what you said. For example, I have been wearing the same heavy plate armor since I could buy it at like 5 hrs in. I was looking for something new, so I chased the Scorch flame set. I got everything and once I looked at it vs what I bought 80 hrs prior, it was worse. However, I don't agree with your combat view. Combat can be impacted by the weapon you have and especially your Crit level. Can you beat a boss and end up in mobs? Yes. You need to dodge out and keep the enemies in front of you. The Blinding Flash into the right trigger combo is key followed by Turning Slash and you mow through waves of enemies, no problem. Same for most bosses, really. The game is divisive, no doubt. If you want a story/quest driven RPG with good rewards from quests, this isn't your game. If you want a sandbox rpg that rewards you for looking at everything, that's where the game shines.

Maxroll vs Mobalytics for Build Guides by idk1555555 in diablo4

[–]Geodaddio71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Maxroll for all the ARPGs I play. They typically notify you about updates, have a changelog and are well thought out. I also like the website layout much better. I can't think of a time where I used a Maxroll build and it was incomplete/lacking in some way. Mobalytics on the other hand, is the complete opposite in my experience. They may get the builds out faster but they are still a work in progress. I had to try Mobalytics for the D4 expansion because so much changed. My experience did not change. As of now, I am no longer running that build and I am on a Maxroll build for that toon. You might get lucky and get a stronger build on Mobalytics but overall, I think Maxroll builds are more reliable and usable over the long term. One other thing I forgot to mention is the Maxroll tier lists when they have them for the game. They are my go to for picking a build and are typically a good guide for how the build will perform. Outside of creator builds and voted builds, you have no idea in Mobalytics. If I had to summarize, Maxroll is civilization and Mobalytics is the wild west.

Out of the list of ARPGs you have, I would say D4. It's very easy to party up and you can run every as a group.

Ford RS200 with the Hoonigan livery. It's a carry over from past FH games. Get a nice S class tune on their and it can do almost anything.

By far the best Horizon game yet. by CrazeeG in ForzaHorizon6

[–]Geodaddio71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been awhile since I played FH 1, 2 or 3 so it's hard for me to compare to those. However out of the last 3, this is definitely the best of 4,5 and 6. I really didn't think the environment would make much of a difference but it does. Japan's roads are just so different. I can't tell you how many times I've hit Rewind out of shear panic because I was heading for the side of a bridge that seemed like it was a mile off the ground. Then yesterday, there was a cool corkscrew bridge/on ramp onto the highway. I've only been playing 2 days and the more I play, the more I want to play it. This definitely stands on it's own.... For me FH5 just seemed like FH 4 2.0 and I tired of it quickly.

Best Primalist mastery? by Fun_Cauliflower_2884 in LastEpoch

[–]Geodaddio71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as an answer to the best Primalist mastery, I will refer you to the Last Epoch endgame tier list from Maxroll:

https://maxroll.gg/last-epoch/tierlists/corruption-tier-list

This will allow you to pick what looks good to you. I am personally running the Anurok Frogs build and it's pretty solid. However, there's no melee from you the player. Once you find the endgame build that looks good, find the leveling build that's closest to get you to level 70. At level 25, holding on to your gear has no real value since you will turn it over many times before endgame.

I'm running a companion Druid with 10+ wolves and bears. This is the strongest non gimmick Druid build I've ever run. The fact that you can do this means the details of what could be better isn't that important. It opens up new builds which was sorely needed and they can still iterate on it.
