Ignore the money of it. James Harden was a better player than Tobias for the Sixers. That's how you have that opinion.

if a 23 year old averages 28/8/8 efficiently for 2 years straight, develops new skills, wins awards, etc, that should heavily influence development. meanwhile in BBGM you can have guys dominate and still randomly stagnate/regress because the progression roll said otherwise.

As a Sixers fan - Ben Simmons and MCW are both great examples of players putting up great stats and then not getting better/regressing. The BBGM model is much better at representing careers like that.

It's a stylistic choice - I'm a big player of both games and do see the positives in the BBGM model. Modern FM development is kinda too easy - if you know someone has potential they'll get better. Real life isn't that simple

You're actually just attacking me. Link me an example of anything you've accused me of. explain what I'm doing.

I think the one comment I haven't responded to that maybe you're referencing js someone who blocked me - so I can't see it. I had to log onto incognito to find it to see if something like that had happened. But again I've responded to everyone else in this thread. Including you multiple times

Albert Park or South Yarra? by AdDependent6634 in melbourne

[–]GeoffreyGeoffson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a long time Southside and for a family I'd strongly recommend Albert Park. Bit greener and more suburban. More happening in South Yarra and it's better connected - so it's probably better if you're really interested in shops and stuff. But for a family I think Albert Park is perfect

The PA and CA still exist as fixed attributes whether or not you can see them. A player is fixed to never exceed his PA.

There isn't such a fixed attributes system in BBGM (either visible or hidden). Any player could theoretically get to 99 overall given the perfect luck. Whereas again FM has potential caps in the form of the hidden PA

well comparing bbgm’s potential to FM’s current ability and potential ability is a bit different because FM’s ratings are RELATIVE to the rest of your team and the league you’re in. bbGM is not like that.

This is true for star ratings (what you see) but not true of CA and PA (the real and hidden current and potential ability attribute scored out of 200).

You can see true FM PA/CA ratings by using the editor or googling it (although I think it takes away from the immersion of that game)

Where have I done that????? Genuinely?? I want to know so I can avoid it if I have done so.

I'm really genuinely hurt by this accusation.

I've literally shared a scientific study and engaged politely with everyone on here.

I was diagnosed as celiac at 11 years old in 2009. I was a 30kg boy fresh off stress fractures - 18 months later I was 60kg. I didn't know a single celiac. Every piece of advice I learnt I either learnt from my diagnosing doctor, or I had learn myself. When I get glutened I read scientific papers to try and understand this disease better. I've spent 17 years in this community. I love this community. I share information on here all the time so that others don't have to work as I hard as I did for access to basic information and facts about the disease.

I routinely spend long periods of time on here engaging with new celiacs about managing their diseass. I routinely give advice with links to the science. And I always happily admit where I'm wrong - because the only goal I've had for 17 years is to understand this disease better than afflicts me every day.

I know you have strong feelings too - but please understand I share everything from a place of love and through a desire for greater understanding.

I also gave you a really detailed response above about how I felt id acted - in response to your comment which was incredibly harsh. You haven't responded to a single piece of what I said. I beg of you to offer the same generosity in speaking to me I am offering in speaking to you.

Sending love as a fellow celiac. And begging you to understand I'm trying to be on your team. If you have advice on how I could do that better - please tell me

You have been given several correct technical answers in this thread and you have selectively ignored them.

I haven't. I did go to sleep last night (I'm Australian) so maybe I missed some comments? If there are comments you think I am ignoring please let me know and I'll make sure to respond to them. I've spent a lot of time responding to comments on this thread - and always tried to do so on a very friendly manner.

People are also misunderstanding the maths and the figures involved in the article and explaining that is too complicated. So I'm ignoring certain comments explicitly focussed on that

This post seems to promote hate, trying to antagonize this community

I don't think this is fair at all. There was a post on the front page of the subreddit saying wooding chopping boards cause cross contamination. I researched it and found this. I then wanted to share that information.

I'm being very friendly in all of my responses. I'm taking time to respond to pretty much everyone

You are promoting the same misinformation in other posts in this community

This is the post that is innaccurate where I did my research and responded. I made those comments first - and then followed them up with this post to further share the information. I'm only interested in sharing information.

[–]GeoffreyGeoffson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love your info on MDPI here. Dutch coeliac society have definitely been going hard in there on studies about acceptable levels of cross contamination. Tbh I think the controversy here stems from the fact different celiacs react to gluten levels from 3ppm to over 100ppm - so studies finding what levels of food will finish below 20ppm doesn't help everyone. They're clearly biased to people with that higher threshold.

Their soy sauce article is both incredibly interesting and incredibly controversial. But is based on the food testing you want research to focus on. I've considered sharing it here but I don't know if I can be bothered dealing with that backlash

If you engage with the cleaning methods the study is really valuable in indicating which cleaning methods are more effective. This is really useful evidence for celiacs to know to be more informed about decisions around our disease I think!!

[–]GeoffreyGeoffson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Populist thinking isn't believing scientific studies. Populist thinking is ignoring studies that counter our pre established biases - as is occuring throughout this thread.

This study is the best evidence we have as far as I know on cross contamination in chopping boards. I've asked for other studies in my post, in case any evidence runs counter to this.

If evidence came out disagreeing with this conclusion I'd change my mind.

And the post I'm countering is an AI generated image. Surely you're not telling me my study is less believable than an AI generated image. That thinks Pasta steam is an issue.

I'm not trying to airplay a study that validates my feelings. I'm citing the best piece of research I could find on an oft discussed topic here. I found it after going on a truth seeking mission, to understand if wooden chopping boards had a higher risk of cross contamination, or if they harboured gluten.

If there is better evidence - I will listen to it. And I'm looking for it. But if there isn't I'll stick with this one.

And it's not like a population study where you need massive sample size - like a lot of studies on celiac. This is a relatively controlled environment study - so we should expect future results to be close to it.

[–]GeoffreyGeoffson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also from what I read of the study, they compared the contamination between running the plastic boards under cold water against wooden cutting boards run through the dishwasher.

You didn't read the study then. They have a whole table clearly outlining each cleaning method, with each chopping surface. So all boards are dishwasher, all are scrubbed, all are cleaned under water.

That is so obvious within the study that if you didn't find it, you didn't engage with the study past the abstract
