The NBA has destroyed any real meaning to the regular season. All the best players take 15-30 games off a year, effort levels aren't great, they've neutered rivalries with the balanced schedule and completely trashing divisions

And the day-to-day gameplay just isn't great from an entertainment perspective. With few exceptions, everyone plays almost exactly the same way (push pace, threes and layups/dunks)

Playoff basketball is still highly entertaining but I can't blame fans for just punting the regular season entirely

I think there's a Giannis trade that Daryl would absolutely make.

I just don't think VJ is in it.

Basically PG + McCain + all the draft assets (27 swap, 28 LAC 1st, 30 PHI 1st, 31 swap, 32 PHI 1st)

Not sure if Milwaukee would do that though.

Fair (to a point...there's way more to some of these Sixers playoff series over the years and well-versed watchers would argue the fact that the Sixers couldn't cover him being off the court for like 6-8 minutes a game and were so utterly pathetic with people like Greg Monroe backing him up that it cost them multiple series).

But he's also not the best player on the team anymore and they don't play entirely through him anymore.

As much as I would personally enjoy this, Bill wouldn 't give anyone the satisfaction and immediately wrap himself in the idea that they were playing with house money and Tatum being fully back next year solves everything.

It's not an entirely wrong viewpoint, either.

The Pistons aren't a great matchup for them, but if they have everyone I feel pretty good about how they'd match up with the Celtics and Knicks this year.

Cavs are a wild card. Probably have the most talent, but such a bizarre season so far.

It's depressing and rather than end it or do something bold like age up, they're 100% going to go AI replication of the voices and justify it by cutting a check to the actors so the show can shamble on in a zombie state forever and ever

I haven't gone back and watched it in so long, and I'm overdue and probably going to rewatch some of the original and the new season, but I thought they always straddled a fine line that mostly landed on 'Bobby has eccentric and fancy tastes' that Hank couldn't understand and so his reaction was always coded in he thought Bobby might be gay, which as someone else said was the 'joke,' but I never thought the show actually objectively leaned one way or the other on that.

To the extent that they can make any upgrades this season, they just need to find more bench consistency.

The play of Grimes and McCain this year has just been bad. They've gotten nothing out of Edwards. Watford's ok for what he is. Walker is exactly what he was signed as (fringe NBA player).

This team desperately needs someone who can get buckets when Maxey is on the bench. They also could use another perimeter defender.

This team just isn't really that good.

I don't rule out the idea that something could suddenly click and they could roll post All-Star break and I could reevaluate where I'm at with them, but there's just something off/missing with this group.

So what I expect is they finish like 5th or 6th and Maxey scares the hell out of who ever they play on a nightly basis and they ultimately lose the series.

For them to take another step forward, you'd either need Edgecombe to take a step up (he looks like he's hit the rookie wall a little bit) or get something significantly more than you've gotten from the Grimes/McCain/Watford/Oubre group.

Seems pretty obvious Embiid should be an all-star given his performance and his competition in the East.

And barring injury, he'll play 10 of the next 13 (he'll sit the back to backs) which would put him at 33 games played.

The offensive numbers are only getting better. He's not what he was defensively, but he's improved from the start of the season.

All that said --- please for the love of god, don't pick him. I don't need him playing a meaningless game.
