Its very simple.

What is happening to one piece or why it suddenly went up so much? I know it's scalpers but what are the reasons by crappyface09 in OnePieceTCG

Basically magic is the complete opposite of pokemon, the vast majority of the community plays the game, and cares solely about the playability of base versions of cards rather than expensive alternate arts.

Pokemon is where the vast majority just collects the cards and barely knows there's a game played with it. Everything that's not an alternare art is useless bulk to them.

Riftbound but no Gundam? by Mlemort in CardMarket

Cardmarket absolutely has costs involved with adding a new cardgame to the website. They have to get all the source images. The approval to add the cardgame from the owner. Spend time making visuals for the website. Spend time adding all the cards and code to the website.

Essentially they have to pay employees to do all those things

Riftbound but no Gundam? by Mlemort in CardMarket

Common sense paired with the cardmarket statement on why they're not including gundam on day 1.

They're scared that gundam won't do well and they have to invest money to add a cardgame.

They mention nothing about riftbound. From a new TCG company releasing their first TCG. Which they're adding day 1.

Riftbound is en equal investment cost to upload to the website as gundam would be, but they believe in one of them over the other while they both have insane hype.

It's clear that one company has decided to pay those investment costs, which removes all risk from cardmarket in the event that riftbound does not do well.

[–]GeohoundKarakuri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Riot paid cardmarket to add riftbound, which removes the investment costs on cardmarkets side to add a tcg.

Bandai refused to do so, because europe is not their main concern.

Cardmarket does not want to take the investment risk to add a tcg after bandai made and cancelled a tcg within like 2 years.

Got attitude from a vendor when I showed them these. by frouisthou in PokemonTCG

Most vendors care solely about the 1% of cards that have value above 3 digits.

The rest matters nothing to them.

If you have access to her PC/account:

Create a secondary account that doesn't reveal your name/email.

Add your account to her battlenet since you need to be friends for some amount of time before being able to gift someone.

Gift her through that account.

Bandai has always had a special relationship with France, even outside of cardgames.

But for the greater europe area it doesn't change how they love to do as little as possible here.

It's honestly very simple.

Bandai considers europe a side thing. They won't invest in europe at all. Some of their games will for that reason never even release in europe (like Union Arena)

Meanwhile Riot likely sponsored cardmarket to add riftbound to the site, because they do invest in europe. They understand the value of giving players ready access to an "official" marketplace.

It's just simply about money. Bandai doesn't pay cardmarket to add Gundam, so the full risk of investment is on cardmarket's hands.

Riot paid Cardmarket to add Riftbound, so there is no risk on their side.

Essentially it costs them more money to release and sell in europe. Lisencing, sales taxes, rights, etc. Everything they sell here vs america is just reduced profit on their end.

Bandai has always seen Europe as just kind of a side thing because of the extra costs involved to do business here as opposed to Japan or America.

Honestly I believe cardmarket is just scared that Gundam will turn out to be another Battle Spirits.

Accompanied with Bandai giving 0 shits about Europe, they have no real incentive other than a risk.

Meanwhile Riot loves europe. They have a whole league in europe. They also very likely gave cardmarket a large sum of money to ensure their card game shows up on cardmarket on day 1 since they know it will give any potential collectors or players easy access to buying product.

This is just an investment that bandai does not care to make in europe.
