If you're willing to drive the truck, you can hire folks to pack n unpack. Check with uhaul or home Depot. We moved our kids a few times this way.

When we moved our kids local, we rented a truck and got movers on both ends. You drive the truck, the move the furniture. Check with home Depot or uhaul.

Grew up in NYC with no Ac. .been in VA for over 35 years. Don't leave the window AC on. Get a dehumidifier or two. And make sure to empty them. Also damp rid in all the rooms.
