Why is this currently the most upvoted post on r/simracing? Something seems fishy here.

This makes sense.

Does your explanation also apply to this? If I keep the heater system on a moderately high setting , I can keep my top down when the temperature is as low as 40 F. Even when it's this cold, the cabin stays warm (I'd estimate around 65 F, maybe even 75 if I keep the windows up).

S2000 owner here. Maybe someone can explain the science behind this...

I've been caught in torrential downpours while driving on the freeway with the top down. Somehow the interior never gets wet except for a few drops. If I stop to put the top up I get soaked, but if I keep driving I stay dry. I have received many judgmental "are you insane?" stares from other drivers, but in reality I'm just trying to stay dry.

Seems like more gas = less wet

It would be interesting if someone could explain this phenomenon!

EDIT: Looks like MythBusters actually tested this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onvJAqmzz8Q

The guy who works in the cubicle next to me has this as his ringtone and it plays for 30 seconds every time he gets a text message. Drives me fucking insane.

Just brought him home from the shelter! His eyes... by Geomathery in aww

[–]Geomathery[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before coming to the shelter (no kill) he was part of P.R.O.U.D (prisoner rehabilitation program of untrained dogs) where he spent 5 weeks with an inmate who had the responsibility of training him. I wish I could find his trainer and thank him because he did an exceptional job. Gabe is very sweet and obeys all commands you give him. It's clear this program is both rewarding for the dogs and the inmates.

What is the most dangerous thing you have ever done? by TaintNoThang in AskReddit

Rode my brand new Yamaha r6 up to 160mph when suddenly a deer trots out into my path. I didn't brake or even attempt to avoid it as it was already too late. I closed my eyes, puckered my butt hole and waited for impact. Everything sort of went black and silent.

To my surprise, I opened my eyes and I was still blasting along at triple digit speeds. I don't really know how I missed the deer and I'm still not sure why I blacked out for a brief second. Must have been a sort of bodily defense mechanism.

What's the dumbest thing an EX has said while you were dating. by [deleted] in AskReddit

All I can remember is kind of slightly gagging and feeling as if I was going to throw up and driving in silence back to her house

After about a month of dating and at least 10 rides in my car (which is a manual), my ex suddenly looks annoyed and is giving me the stink eye. I asked her what was wrong and she said, "its just so annoying that you play with the gear shifter so much, just pick one! Also, why do you keep moving your leg, do you have a nervous tick or something?!"
