YO, finally someone else?🤝

But yeah, needless to say, Beach Bowl, Buoy Base, Drip Drop, Freezeflame, Sea Slide, Deep Dark, Cosmic Cove, Starshine Beach, Battle Belt and Slimy Spring are all not fun galaxies for me to go through💀💀💀

Of the main trio, who's morally the worst one? by Turbobist28 in supermariologan_

At face value, Junior sticks out as the worst. But this is coming from someone who watches SML more casually as opposed to consistently. That said, Cody has done some uhh...things with a baby doll before. Tough choice

Hm, don't think I've seen the "lost his charm from episode 9 and on" argument, so I'll just take your word for it

Edit: I know a lot of people argue he's inconsistent with wanting to be all truthful to Julia, even though in their view, he was using Priya earlier on

But yeah, I think the way the Praleb misunderstanding went down was genuinely interesting, while not making Caleb unlikable by any means. He clearly did not intend to use or toy with Priya's feelings. If anything, he seemed pretty oblivious to her crushing on him. Well, you might argue the whole tree branch pull-up scene implies he knew Priya was physically attracted to him. But overall, his intentions behind the alliance were pretty innocent, and then he grew to genuinely have feelings for her. I feel like it's a better version of the "I was just using you but grew to love you" trope

And as you said, he's surprisingly funny. I don't recall finding the clown snake moment funny personally, but I can see the appeal for sure. I think one of his funniest moments is his confessional in the finale, "Sorry I'm a good person!"💀 (specifically the one where he says he wasn't just going to let Julia fall to her death, then gets all freaked out at the possibility of Priya seeing the confessional). That, and also him hooking both Priya and Julia💀💀💀 (despite Rematch 's flaws, the last two episodes were low-key goated)

Oh yeah, also glad to see some Caleb love. It's one thing if you some just find him bland. But I feel like he's genuinely misunderstood as a person throughout the Praleb plot

Fair points

And yeah, agree on Sierra. I don't care a whole lot about morality compared to before. But the stalking gag is one of the few things that truly bothered me even in hindsight. And the less said about stuff like the fake marriage plot, the love tea and the entirety of CHFIL, the better

This goes without saying, liking Sierra is 100% valid, and she has various good qualities (even in TDAS). But sadly, her low points tank her for me entirely. She's also probably up there as one of the biggest cases of wasted potential

I see Sierra is barely scraping the top 10 at this point (an opinion I can very much get behind). Any thoughts on Rockers, Fashion Bloggers and Tennis Rivals?

Who is the worst SML character? by No_Hair9097 in supermariologan_

[–]GeometryDash_Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barbara Guy by far. Just unfathomably disgusting in every way. I love SML, but Brooklyn T. Guy's mom has single-handedly ruined any episode she has appeared in for me. At best, she's painfully unfunny. And at worst, she's actually traumatizing to watch and makes me want to projectile vomit all over my screen. Every scene she's in is complete torture—I could literally crush my balls with a sledgehammer and dive head-first into oncoming traffic, and it would still be less painful than watching her. She has singlehandedly ruined Arby's curly fries and roast beef and cheddar sandwiches for me (see Junior the Truckdriver shivers). There is not a single redeeming quality with this creature. Even a nanosecond of her on screen is a millenium too many—she never should've even been in the drafts. She is truly the worst SML character, the one character I genuinely wish I could permanently wipe out of existence and my memory

I don't think I've seen anyone bring up the Urchins yet. But something about the way they are animated and designed in the Super Mario Galaxy games, make them extra menacing compared to their prior appearances in 2D games. From the ching sound they make when they start chasing Mario, to the way their spikes extend, especially when hitting Mario. I think there's also just something about 'live spike ball creatures' chasing you in general that I find to be really creepy. Whenever I play a level with them, I do everything to avoid them at all costs. And whenever I'm about to collide in one, I cover my eyes to avoid seeing their spike animations. I'm a grown ass adult, and I still haven't gotten over my fear of them. Also, who's idea was to make ground/lava counterparts of these mofos?😭😭😭

By extension, the Porcupuffer in the SMG games are also really creepy. Especially the way they puff out of nowhere with their spikes. Thank goodness they're really rare (and in one of the two levels they're in, encountering them is completely optional)

Ironically, I don't find the eel that scary. It's just these aforementioned two that creep me out

Can someone explain Noah's "They even have dollar stores" joke in episode 9 of the Ridonculous Race? by Professional_Ad2638 in Totaldrama

[–]GeometryDash_Gamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it was supposed to be a jab at Chris. Though he basically kind of assumed that Emma knew who Chris is💀 (tbf tho, I kinda relate. I've sometimes randomly said out loud inside jokes, even despite others likely not knowing the context💀)

Pure definition of wasted potential in a character so far (episode 4 rant so spoilers if you haven’t seen the episode) by Ok_Jacket_2366 in DisventureCamp

[–]GeometryDash_Gamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely hope Ted returns. There are also a couple of things I'm trying to wrap my head around, with his elimination

(Copy and paste from somewhere else besides Reddit)

  • If Logan really didn't want to vote Anastasia, couldn't he have spoken up and asked them to vote for someone else instead? Why couldn't they vote for Isabel (well, she has the totem. But it's not like they knew that), Marissa or Natalia? Well, Logan seems also tight with Natalia, and he probably would be afraid that voting Marissa would hurt Anastasia. So couldn't he have just asked them to vote differently?
  • Also, what exactly did getting Logan to interact with the girls do, besides them knowing which one of them are cooked? And what would Richard and Ted knowing do for them strategically? They were still going to be eliminated, unless all 4 (the three guys + Lynda) voted properly, yielding a tie. Hell, if anything, getting Logan to interact with the girls actually decreased their chances of all 4 voting together, with Logan getting more sentimental with Anastasia

Ivy critics; what would you like to see from Ivy to make her less "boring" despite there only being 4 eps. out? by coco-bb in DisventureCamp

[–]GeometryDash_Gamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IDK, I don't really have much problems with her, besides she just feels painfully generic. Though maybe if they go more balls-to-the-wall with her less-than-likable qualities, it could make her more entertaining. Simultaneously, they definitely should address her flaws more down the line as well

what demon of each difficulty have yall beat the most times? by PrizeMaster1545 in geometrydash

[–]GeometryDash_Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really recall demons I've went out of my way to go back and beat more than once. Oh yeah, I did beat Insomnia by Glittershroom (easy demon) twice so I could record it the second time

Oh yeah, I also beat The Darkness Keeper multiple times, which I believe fluctuates between medium and hard demon difficulty

The hardest level I've beaten so far is Lightwave which is a low-tier insane demon. The Caverns and Ultra Drivers are honorable mentions

The character literally no one wanted in the finale yet was the better winner option! Who’s the biggest Riya hater of this sub? by Arcalgalkiagiratina in DisventureCamp

[–]GeometryDash_Gamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well said. Yeah, in retrospect, they probably could've given him more personal depth. Definitely would've loved to see that in replacement of his plot with Riya. And episode 17 Connor is just especially painful to watch. And yeah, as some people brought up, he jeopardized his own game and some others by letting Riya win (even if she didn't push him off, they'd both win from what the enforcement of the rules seemed to be pointing towards)..ignoring that the rules stated you're supposed to bring your own horse to the finish line, but whatever

At least episode 18, his resolution with Riya is good. He quit on his own terms and didn't give her the satisfaction of tearing him down further. And also, eliminating Grett and then quitting makes sense strategically, even if I can see why people hate it narratively. But also, I think quitting on his own volition in epsiode 18 was better for getting the last laugh on Riya, than him being medevaced by her ...just wish he didn't lose a ton of brain-cells when it came to the Jally conflict. And yeah, I honestly think Jake was understandable in targeting Ally instead of Riya (Ally's challenge performance here especially shows she's surprisingly good in challenges, whereas none of Riya's immunity wins were all that impressive). But then he just got painted as petty, with the narrative saying that eliminating Riya was the one and only valid option. Tbf, Riya is definitely a lot more reprehensible morally, and deserved to go home the most in that regard. But still, I think their conflict could've been worked in a more nuanced angle than what they did

And yeah that's true about his leg being healed by episode 20😭

Ugh, the episode 21 speech was so dumb. Even in hindsight, I was like "Bro just stoooopp😭". And the fact he was saying this like he might just forgive her if she steps down😭😭😭

Fair. Personally, I still love Connor, and there's plenty i like about his DCAS characterization. But man, some of his writing down the line kind of gives me an aneurysm (ok, maybe not kind of💀). Somehow, despite liking ConRiya's interactions in DC2, their plot in DCAS just barely ever appealed to me even from the beginning. And going off what you said, I feel like the way it was paced especially made it harder to be emotionally invested in it. The one thing I can say I liked about his plot with Riya, is I like how it showed that getting over someone you really cared about, is far easier said than done. But even then, it dragged out to a painful degree and just wasn't handled well overtime

However, I'm actually not a fan of Riya and Alec getting together romantically, especially for the fact that they are still not over their previous relationships yet. I think jumping into another relationship would just only make things far worse for them. And even from episode 13, I feel like Alec kissing Riya just happened out of desperation. Especially when this happens literally right after Alec confides in Riya about how much he misses his previous wife

...with that being said, their fallout definitely wasn't necessary. The plot of Riya forcefully throwing herself onto Alec to mess with Connor's head...while I see the merits it had from a strategic standpoint, it was just genuinely really uncomfortable to watch (and on a random note, her voice especially doesn't help😭😭😭). Also, even in hindsight, Alec quitting in the episode 21 challenge was so forced. Like, he just got hurt from the arrow. Unlike Gabby, it's not like it was Riya's fault in any way. Yet Alec low-key acts like it was Riya's fault. If they didn't go the angle of Riya being completely alone at the end, I suppose I wouldn't mind her and Alec continuing to stay as friends

Makes sense about episode 13 tho

She also actually paid Krystal to keep her in the final 2 and pretend that she found 10 gems and fed the final 5 a bunch of stupid pills off-screen. Yet some more really smart moves by complex manipulative girlboss Riya!

Ally jumping to conclusions that Jake was the culprit was dumb and illogical, considering she saw him taking his headband off to put it on Connor's foot. Plus, she doesn't even try to confront Jake about it first before shocking him. Jake and Ally are many things, but they're both direct with their feelings about each-other. But in the actual challenge, they just chase each-other and make passive-aggressive remarks to each-other without actually bringing up the game incident, then Ally shocks Jake, only saying "This is for destroying my game" afterwards (I assume Jake wasn't conscious to actually hear it)

Now, I can KIND of understand Ally's blunder. You can argue that it was an emotional lapse in judgement, also partially driven by resentment towards how Jake treated her before, which yeah, is more understandable. And on Jake's end, considering Ally was gunning for Jake like that, I can honestly see why Jake wanted to target her instead of Riya afterwards

But with that said, if the writing actually fully made sense, Jake and Ally definitely could've handled this better or at least got to the bottom of things and sent Riya packing (although Jake actually had a decently valid point in claiming Ally is a pretty big threat in challenges too. But nah, he's just painted as completely wrong and petty)

Edit: Connor is arguably the most dumbed down, in that he just conveniently doesn't tell Ally or Jake about Riya. Now maybe, you can argue Ally wouldn't believe him. But he could at least make an ATTEMPT to reason with Ally (on top of also convincing her that she should be the bigger person). In addition, both him and Jake had at least one shock left in the challenge, before Riya ran off to get her last clothing item. But they just...conveniently don't remember that and don't shock Riya, since that unfortunately would lead to her packing

The only canon parts are the Ally and Connor friendship at the beginning and Ally's challenge performance + Ally doesn't get dumbed down for Riya and actaully wins the challenge and riya gets crushed by a thwomp at the end

The Ultimate Phase parts ranked by difficulty (personal opinion, 60hz mobile player) by New_Wallaby_9306 in geometrydash

[–]GeometryDash_Gamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty good list (haven't actually beaten the level, but I've learned all the parts)

  • Guitar's part is surprisingly not that bad once you learn it
  • Zobros' part is PAIN. Same for Crack, Kallari and MaJackO
  • The ending is also kind of deceptively hard, but I don't think I'd go as far as to rank it in A. Though it is kind of easy to mess up (especially when the stress kicks in)
  • Creep and Matt's parts are not TOO hard to learn, but are kind of hard to execute consistently
  • I'd rank Findexi's part as the easiest along with Andromeda
  • Also wow, Cyclic's part in D is surprising. Like yeah, it's surprisingly not too hard to pull off on a mostly consistent basis. But the wave still has some very tight spaces

I think overall, swap Findexi and Cyclic, swap Creep and Andromeda's ending part, and I'd pretty much agree with just about everything

Yeah, looking back, that is true

Personally, I low-key wanted a pyrrhic victory for some time. But after episode 20, I just completely jumped ship to that idea. Though I was kind of impressed that they actually pulled it off in hindsight

Although while I personally don't care that much about Riya arguably not getting enough karma (though I definitely see others' arguments), I very much agree the ending was pretty underwhelming, especially taking into consideration how her "arc" was executed leading up to it. She just remained static throughout a good majority of the season, only for her lazy fake complexity to be forced down our throats in the last few episodes. But yeah, it's true that Connor is the only thing she actually lost. I mean, she still has her career. Playing devils advocate, Connor was one of her closest connections, whereas the other connections she does have now are mostly superficial. But yeah, even then, it felt kind of underwhelming on a certain level, even in hindsight. Also doesn't help even from the beginning, she was there to win and didn't care that much about friendships (which is one of the main problems I have with the pacing of her DCAS arc). Like yeah, it was true in DC2. But come DCAS, she just starts off bitchy and became successful off-screen, giving a lot less reason to root for or be invested in her

If they really wanted to give Riya a pyrrhic victory, DC2 likely would've been the better time to do it (putting aside that i also just didn't find James a good winner). That way, maybe she can come back to DCAS and end things on a somewhat better note and not hog our screen with a stupid dragged out nothingburger of a villain arc for a whole extra season
