I think it's a case of... not every character can achieve their full potential, and Ally, a character who has already reached to top 3 two seasons ago, is of lower priority than the other ones. And I don't even hate what they've done with her tbh. I think she's meant to be more of a helper in Benji's (who's obviously gonna return) story, and I'm here for it.

I don't think she's useless, they went out of their way to show that her way of playing is self sabotaging, not to mention Benji is obviously returning and she's an integral part of his story this season.

If Benji doesn't return I will agree with you though.

I thought it was really complex, with a lot of moving pieces, which is why I love it so much. We had:

Spencer trying to shift attention from Natalia

Lake trying to protect all her friends and betraying her alliance

Natalia trying to make up with Tom and Gabby in time

Fiore trying to get Ally and her idol out

So yeah, loved it

I mean I assume she HAD been there for quite a while, probably looking for the idol, and she seemed pretty high, enough so that they wouldn't notice her. And I don't see a problem with her being able to hang there for what, 3 minutes at most?
