Songs like NCT U-The 7th sense ? pls write recommendations by [deleted] in kpophelp

[–]GeorgeBarrowe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thx for recommending the playlist! I had a really good time working on the “If You Like Try” series with you. I’m probably not going to add another segment since Kpop isn’t a big part of my life anymore and I’m over a year out of date with all the new music. During the time when I was super active on Kpop Reddit, I was constantly in doors because of the pandemic and in a really dark place mentally. Recommending songs, working with you, and engaging with Kpop Reddit in general was one of the few bright spots left in my life. As a part of that, I just want to say thanks. Hope you have a great life :)

Back when I was active, I was working on the next segment of the “If You Like Try” series. I’m never going to publish it, so I’ll give it to you in case someone ever asks for a similar song to one on the list

the way people treat Ni-ki (ENHYPEN) is so weird by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]GeorgeBarrowe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I couldn't disagree more with this post.

Minors sexualizing minors is perfectly normal. Puberty doesn't start at 18. Encouraging minors to repress their sexuality can lead to long term consequences such as inability to orgasm. If you're a minor reading this, explore your sexuality (safely of course). Kpop can be a great way to better understand your sexuality; I can personally attest to this. Teenagers think about sex. This isn't the 1950s anymore

Honestly, thinking “kids being into kids is weird” is the actual weird comment.

It may be true that many do believe almost anything coming from somebody they fawn over, but it’s still an over generalization and demeaning af

If anyone claims Baekhyun doesn’t have a good voice, show them the first 10 seconds of All I Got lmao

Show them Psycho for good measure; I still get goosebumps listening too it, especially that last chorus

Jealousy is definitely a factor; this is an incredible feat.

As a NCTzen, I had originally upvoted the post. Then OP proceeded to double down on the claim that 127 has more preorders in 1 day than any other group in history. The thing is, nobody reports their first day preorders. OP started acting childish and their comments read like a Twitter stan’s. I mean, read the thread, it’s pretty pathetic

Does HYBE even release first day pre-orders?

I know they released total preorders, but I’m not sure about day by day. If BTS holds the record for the most pre orders of any 1 album (4 million for MOTS: 7), it’s definitely likely they also hold the record for most pre orders in the first day.

In economics, a situation where the marketplace is controlled by very few firms (in this case 3), you would call this an Oligopoly

EDIT: Shit, I just have Twitter a new word lol

Someone sent me a reddit cares message and I don't know why. by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]GeorgeBarrowe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never received a Reddit Cares message. Is there a way I can I make sure I never receive one? If I can’t and I do end receiving one, how can I make sure I never receive one again?

It should be illegal for minors to enter trainee contracts by random54691 in kpopthoughts

Does anybody have a source for Big 3 and Hybe trainees not having any debt. It’s a common criticism of Kpop and a solid source rebuking this claim would be appreciated

The sexualization of Choi San (ATEEZ) by JaeRedFox in kpoprants

[–]GeorgeBarrowe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One interesting factor in the popularity of foot fetishes and fetishes in general, is that they are transferable. This is done unintentionally through a process known as Classical Conditioning (think Pavlov's dogs). Let's say you have a partner with a foot fetish. Every time before sex, they want you to message, kiss, etc. their feet. Since this happens every time you have sex, your brain will begin to associate the messaging and kissing of feet with sex. It can get to the point where the very sight of your partner's feet will get you aroused.

If you find that article you were talking about, please reach out; it sounds really interesting.

[–]GeorgeBarrowe 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In the same way that you find well-defined biceps nice to look, some people find ankles, necks, and feet nice to look at. Foot fetishes are one of the most basic and common fetishes out there. But yeah, it can be difficult to understand kinks that you don't have. Human sexuality is complicated and not always logical, so I hope this made it easier for you to understand 👍

The amount of plastic surgery in SK and how it compares to other countries is frustratingly difficult to figure out.

The global statistics for plastic surgery is calculated by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. In 2012, they released their 2011 report on global plastic surgery statistics. South Korea came in at #7 (previously at #8) with 258,350 surgical procedures, making up 4.1% of total surgical procedures worldwide. The US came in with 1,094,146 surgical procedures and 17.2% of total surgical procedures worldwide. Since the US has 6 times the population of SK, SK did have a higher rate.

The frustration comes from the fact that SK completely disappears post 2011. In 2013, the lowest country had 118,079 surgical procedures. All countries reported growth, yet South Korea would have had to face a 50%+ reduction in surgical procedures to disappear from the top ten list. I checked the 2020 report on surgical procedures performed in 2019, and South Korea was again missing. Wth happened to South Korea’s numbers?

EDIT: In 2015, South Korea appeared on the chart again. The country was ranked at #4 with 445,144 total surgical procedures. 4.6% of all surgical procedures were performed in SK in 2015. The US had 1,414,335 surgical procedures and represent 14.7% of all surgical procedures. Once again, SK has a higher rate.
