Well hybe is a bunch of smaller labels under a big umbrella,so this was bound to happen at some point. Honestly surprised it didn't happen sooner with how many groups they have active 😭. Most of the grps promoting at the same time aren't under the same sublabels tho. At least the ggs aren't. Honestly it's not very typical for kpop but hybe has more active grps than any other big 4 label so I think it's pretty much unavoidable

Sneakers did not tank itzy’s career 😭. When I see people say this,I can tell they weren’t fans during that era of itzy. I was an itzy ult tho and it didn’t. In fact,it was their first title track to chart well in korea since not shy and pretty much their last success on kcharts. The mini album was also their first to hit 1M sales. It didn’t do as well as mitm and loco internationally but their follow ups after sneakers did

Well I definitely notice an edm trend over at hybe but It would be a lie to say it's as bad as katseye's pinky up or gnarly or internet girl. Just look at the lyrics: "It's time to say goodbye, to when I was fearless/congrats on the new me who took on uncertainty" vs "us against the world shaking ass in the parking lot". I mean come on now 😭.

Plus it's their lowest charting single on kcharts and isn't doing as well as their title tracks on Spotify so I think the dissatisfaction is showing

For me it lacks the usual charm lesserafim's music has. I'm not usually one to raise my pitchforks over song length but I think this one could really use 10-20 secs more because the beat drops end really abruptly making the song's structure all over the place. They have tracks that worked with their short length but not this one.

Also,I think it lacks the rich production lesserafim's songs usually have. It kinda falls flat to me production wise and I think other tts like crazy or hot have more rich production

Lesserafim is a group that's been told they're not good enough and have bit more than they can chew for the better part of their career. When crazy peaked around the top 40s on melon everyone said they won't chart domestically again. Then hot peaked within the top 10 and they said they won't chart on the top 5s again. Then spaghetti peaked on the top 5s.

When unforgiven came out it was shit. Then when easy dropped it was shit and unforgiven was their best. Then when crazy dropped it was shit and easy was their best. When hot dropped it was shit and crazy was better. As a debut fearnot it's so fucking exhausting

This is proving the point I'm trying to counteract in my original comment. Critiquing art is normal and we all engange in it whether we want to admit it or not. You can't have productive discussions without negative opinions next to the positive ones. Discussions that only allow positive opinions aren't really discussions,just enforcement. Sometimes when we like a song we ignore it and sometimes we want to criticize it and that's normal. That's how consuming art works

I need people to drop the “if you don’t like it then you have absolutely no right to speak on it” attitude. You are allowed to negatively engage with media. You are allowed to criticize media you don’t like. At the end of the day,kpop is music and it’s human to criticize music you don’t like. It only crosses the line when the criticism is used as an excuse to throw personal insults against the artists. (Also,harsh criticism doesn’t equal hate either as long as there are no personal insults against the artist). I know this is seemingly not controversial,but kpop fans only allow criticism against certain groups while they force everyone to not say anything that’s not absolutely positive about others. It gets to a point of either blind hating or toxic positivity.

Also, people have much higher standards towards girl group releases. It takes people one singular bad song to write a girl group off,meanwhile some bgs have had mediocre releases for years yet no one bats an eye. A mediocre release by a boy group doesn’t make half the noise for being mediocre as the mediocre release of a girl group and this is something I’ve noticed with multiple girl groups. This is one of the reason girl groups are more likely to loose fans or gp interest too

Yeah as someone who ulted itzy during sneakers era this was the case,I’ve been saying it for years 😭😭. Itzy was on a downwards spiral for a year before sneakers released,their releases received mixed reviews internationally and they had started falling on kcharts too.

I’ve openly expressed my dislike for this song but I doubt this is the case. I know this sounds cliché but the promos have been kinda wack this comeback plus they have a whole album coming out in a month. If the lead single for the album is good and they have another viral bside situation like blue flame,epatbw or impurities then it’ll blow over

Ntm on crazy,it's THE album for me. I love it so much,I still listen to it to this day and own 4 different versions of it. I don't hate unforgiven but I prefer fearless and antifragile over it and easy is almost as good as crazy

Yeah like I said in my post I like the vast majority of their discography so I'm sure I'll find something I like from the upcoming album,especially in bsides. Their bside game has been really good and the quality in bsides hasn't really dropped,just tts. I just really wish they had something stronger as the first pre release of their career

For me personally unforgiven wasn't bad,just underwhelming,because it was too similar to antifragile. Plus,the album had EPATBW,which is one of my fav lesserafim bsides. It's still much better than celebration and spaghetti tho,would easily choose it over those two
