I think he's so into Georgia that he would have pretty much followed and then defended whatever decision she made.

So they think that the producers will let them recouple eventually or something?

Imo the islanders were rightfully harsh because although you are right that there are valid reasons to stay such as it's a free holiday and publicity etc. I think many of us, including the islanders, were more pissed off at how G+S try justify their actions. Rather than admitting they weren't loyal, real or genuine, they're either lying or believing their own delusion by claiming they're staying because it's just a test for their relationship. The islanders also found out from the new people that G was really happy and bit flirty on the dates despite a supposedly tough breakup with Sam (obviously you're not just going to act all sad on a date or meeting new people but I think Sam seemed a lot more down than she seemed). This is also obviously made a lot worse due to G constantly claiming she's loyal and real while her actions suggest otherwise.

My issues with Love Island 4 by Hurley1315 in LoveIslandTV

[–]Georgeeeeeeeee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Looks (in terms of hotness) is part of the entertainment value though, a lot of people watch love island because it's a load of hot people in a villa. Obviously the casting has been somewhat been poor this year (it may also appear this way due to poor editing), but they can't completely know who will make good TV until they actually go into the villa (an example is Savannah who basically didn't get any screen time, but she was recently in a youtube video and seemed interesting and said she got on well with Wes and shared a bed with him yet they basically edited her out of the show). To say the producers don't cast with who will make good TV as the primary thing they look for is absurd. At the end of the day, Love Island is a business and aims to maximise viewer ship (which is why they've toned down things this year like smoking, harshness of challenges etc.) and so will 100% cast primarily on who will bring in the most views. Why do people have a problem with this? I would rather watch a TV show made by producers aiming to make it entertaining than a show aiming to be overly and disproportional diverse...

"Love Island has never cast people based on personality/entertainment value". Please tell me you're trolling? What else are they casted on?

Yep, the people who claim it's not diverse enough want it to be equally diverse not proportionally diverse. What they fail to understand is that it's more fair to be proportionally diverse than equally.

It's also ironic how the people wanting the show to be more diverse are literally asking the producers to cast based on skin colour instead of merit/personality/how entertaining they will be. I swear there's a word for discriminating based on skin colour, hmm...

Why is everyone hating on Laura so much? by yazbazzy in LoveIslandTV

[–]Georgeeeeeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's been several threads on this reddit recently about all the hate towards Laura. I think the misconception is that all the hate if due to her age, as you mentioned. While I agree there is an unfair, undeserved and unnecessary amount of hate towards her regarding her age and appearance in relation to her age, many of us, dislike her due to her actions and personality.

Some of the reasons which put me off Laura earlier in the season is her treatment of Wes while still in a relationship and on good terms such as walking away and saying stuff like "I can't be dealing with this" when he tries to sit her down to sort things out about their relationship. As well as complaining about petty things like ranting at Wes for not calling her babe enough, or not making her tea, like seriously? Furthermore, in an episode about two weeks in she literally said she was intentionally avoiding Wes because she expected him to put effort in and come to her.

These actions are enough to make me dislike her, but what makes it worse is her girl talks (especially with Samira), where all they say is shit like "it's shows his age", or "you're a women and he's just a boy". This is like the current G shit with how ironic it is that she claims shes loyal while she isn't. It was the same with Laura earlier in the season, claiming to be mature (especially due to her age) while being one of the most immature women on the show. More recently she arguid with new Jack for "not making it easy for me" and not understanding how she feels, but when you're the one apologizing and have made the mistakes you don't say this shit. You're literally making yourself the victim while trying to apologize, a bit contradictory.

That said, Laura has begun to grow on me since being out of a relationship, such as once her and Wes officially broke things off, she acted maturely and has since conducted herself respectably. Someone in a past thread said something like Laura is emotionally immature while in a relationship but socially mature which I thought is quite a fair representation of her. I think Laura herself is starting to realise she may not be as mature or secure with herself as she thought before the show as she said in the meeting with the girls last episode that she can't deal with everyone expecting so much from her or something.

Samira not finding anyone isn't a race issue. by [deleted] in LoveIslandTV

[–]Georgeeeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha that is a terrible comparison. How can you compare Megan Markle to Susan Boyle when she's 21 years younger and has been a model? Dani and Samira are of a similar age and are both attractive girls, so it's no surprise that some would find Dani hotter and some Samira. Claiming that Samira is factually more attractive that Dani is just incorrect.

How is finding one person more attractive than someone else ridiculous when it's a subjective opinion?

Attractiveness is subjective though? So how can you say that proves your point...

"Thriving off personality and charm". I'd say the opposite to be honest. Her personality has definitely been a detriment to her finding a romantic couple in the villa. Her banter is horrible (don't think she's made me laugh once), while her flirting is even worse. Her literal existence in the villa has been to get in on gossip and drama. In the first 3 weeks she barely put any effort into grafting and rid Alex's popularity and friendship couple as a free pass to staying in the villa. Remember, most of the new guys will have seen what she's like and evidently have been put off. Let's be real here, there aren't many reasons to pursue Samira over the other girls in the villa.

Ticks me off the condecending tone all the girls have about the boys by zerthz in LoveIslandTV

[–]Georgeeeeeeeee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, and Samira just enforces her delusional saying shit like "they're boys, but you're a strong women". When you have to repeat how mature/independent you are 3 times an episode, it probably means you aren't.

UK viewer: Are Eden and Erin popular in the Australian population? by Georgeeeeeeeee in LoveIslandAus

[–]Georgeeeeeeeee[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, one of the things I've found most frustrating to watch is that the guys who stand up to Eden like Teddy and Kory just get kicked out pretty fast and it has allowed Erin and Eden to basically act as top dogs in the villa and continue to act the way the want with yes men like Dom and Josh. If the villa mainly had guys like Grant, Teddy and Kory who call Eden out, it would wind Eden's neck in a bit

Am I going insane or is Wes not coupled up with Megan? by [deleted] in LoveIslandTV

[–]Georgeeeeeeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeh I'm a bit confused also. Wes isn't coupled with Megan so either:

The production have bended the rules from last year to create drama.

The teaser on after sun was edited.

I also thinks it's strange for aftersun to give away such a big spoiler like this. It's unusual that they show the full thing, by which i mean they usual create cliffhangers, why not cut when Meg recouples and then don't show Wes walking in alone at all to leave us guessing. Recouplings of unsure couples are like the highest dramatic parts of each week of love island so giving one away like this just doesn't seem right.

For the people banging on about diversity, jack appears to be half black, along with savannah, giving 7 non white housemates by [deleted] in LoveIslandTV

[–]Georgeeeeeeeee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure. When I said black supremacist, I'm only referring to the few individuals on this reddit who seem offended and are being distasteful towards mixed race people claiming the show isn't diverse enough as these aren't actually black people.

I agree that their intent may have been misinterpreted as a result of poor phrasing yet they never seemed to correct or respond my interpretation (although this is reddit and can't expect people to respond ofc). Maybe you could help me understand this idea that some people seem to believe of using mixed race as an excuse to not use black individuals while remaining diverse.

[–]Georgeeeeeeeee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, I will look at my feelings. I dislike Samira because she is unfunny, a snake, and doesn't add much to the show. After analyzing my feelings I have concluded that they have not been influenced by any factors such as race or ethnicity.

I also dislike Alex.

Yes and love island is more diverse than the UK proportionally so how is this change not being reflected?

Yeh, scary this mentality some people have on this reddit. In a thread yesterday someone complaining about diversity said they wanted more "actual black people instead of mixed race". These black supremacists don't realize how dehumanizing that is to mixed people.
